The bread was dreadful, soft and characterless. The meat was characterless. Ditto the cheese. I could taste the sweet pickles, the jalapeños, the hot pepper spread and the mayo more than anything.

Tonight we went as a family to a cineplex to view a film called Barbie.

The film really captured something in the cultural zeitgeist of Summer 2023. I found it a bit scattershot. A mix of heavy handed and featherweight. I don’t feel strongly about it one way or another. Glad we went. The kids enjoyed it.
