I am so happy they were able to get the guys up from the sub in Russia. There is NO way I would EVER get into one of those things willingly.

DR TomovOZ, I do hope that goes well for DR OzDerick. Is there any word about him being placed back on the list for a transplant?

Hmm.... I want ice cream... again...

After lunch - Thai again - I went over to Lickety Split. They had something called "Elvis' Favorite". It was banana ice cream with a peanut butter swirl. Quite good. So, I got a half-cup of that, and half-cup of their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

Sometimes they have different flavors in the evening - since they run out of other ones during the day... So.... *Although, that Burnt Sugar and Butter flavor they had yesterday was quite good too - and went very well with the Blueberry Sorbet.

Ok, now we have a commercial with a lady that went from a size 10 (like a size 10 is a tent) to a size 4. Is there something wrong there as well or is it just me?

I heard something on NPR and I don't remember who said it BUT - it was something about feeling sorry for the poor women on the Titanic who skipped dessert because they were worried about their weight.

Broadway's Lost Treasures III is on right now with all the pledge breaks. But they did show brief clips of the bonus footage, They inlcude Miss Saigon, The Happy Time with David Wayne, Robert Goulet and a very young Michael Rupert but what I think what might make the whole set worth it: Angela Lansbury as Mama Rose sing Everything Coming Up Roses.

So far from what I've seen it is a mixture of older shows and stuff from the last six years or so. They had Fosse and the revival of 42nd Street,

Older stuff is Step to Rear from How Now Dow Jones. A couple from the 25th anniversary show. Gwen Verdon (Damn Yankees) & Alfred Drake (Kiss Me Kate)
Also there is Crazy For You.

Forgot to add: Julie Andrews in a medley of songs from My Fair Lady & Camelot.

Also there is Kiss Of the Spiderwoman.

Oy, I feel like such a curmudgeon today, even though I'm actually in a very good mood. But did I actually hear Harvey Fierstein, on the pledge break for Bway's Lost Treasures, starting to tell a serious and touching story - about his mother's friends with numbers on their arms finally appreciating something he's done since he's been Tevye - only to be interrupted by giggling hosts saying it was time for a break? Someone, please tell me I was imagining that moment. It felt surreal, I hope it didn't really happen.

Oops, sorry I forgot to log out when we left to take dinner to my mom and aunt. We got home just in time for me to see Broadway's Lost Treasures III, which our station showed without pledge breaks.

When my aunt found out that I'd received a record player for Christmas, she decided to bring me what's left of her collection of LP's. Included are the original cast recordings of My Fair Lady and Flower Drum Song, plus the Julie Andrews Cinderella. The one that caught DH Richard's eye is a Ruth Lyons Christmas album - he said, "I grew up with that!" DRs elmore, JRand, and Charles Pogue, I'm sure, will recognize the name Ruth Lyons.

I've been thinking about Ruth Lyons a lot this week; I first saw Hildegarde on her 50/50 cluib, and Hildegarde's death had me thinking about Miss Lyons.
