The electronic hat has it out for me, I tell you: I am still waiting for my last two (count 'em) sparkling prizes from the last times I won, eons ago.

OK, now I feel better. Plus I am listening to Luiz Eca who is arguably the most incredible pianist ever to come out of Brasil (and that's saying a lot). DR Joey should listen to his version of Jobim's Double Rainbow, which is orchestrated a la Ravel.

I'm up, I'm up. Had an early-morning call from Mr. Schmidt, who is very pleased with the little EQ work I did on his CD with Vinnie. The original CD he did was a bit muddy sounding to my ears, and we took that out and made it a bit brighter and fuller-sounding.

I just saw some screen captures from THE BARKLEYS OF BROADWAY, and the Technicolor is so lush and lovely that I think I must watch it instead of THE RAZOR'S EDGE. I'll save that one for possibly the weekend.

While I was at Wal-Mart, I also spied SIN CITY that (I believe) DR MBarnum was talking about the other day. I'd love to see the film, but I don't think I could stand the hyperviolence.

I've shied away from the KILL BILL films for the same reason. It's too graphic for my psyche.

As I mentioned, it has been put forth to me that the elements for the new DVDs of Mockingbird and Sting have been finished and sitting around for at least two to three years. After watching the supplements on The Sting, I'd say I have to agree with that. Anyone who has seen Marvin Hamlisch lately will likely concur - in the supplements he's about twenty to thirty pounds thinner than he is now.

I wouldn't be at all surprised about THE STING because I had read YEARS AGO that it was due for a 30th anniversary DVD special edition, which would have put its release date in 2003, and it never happened.

Yes, THE HOT ROCK. One of my all-time faves. A great caper film, and a great Quincy Jones score. There's also a great shot of Ron Leibman flying the gang over the not-yet-completed World Trade Center in a helicopter.

People were talking about 1976 the other day. I was a little kid, but I still remember the magical feeling in the air during the bicentennial. It really seemed like a national celebration. People really went crazy for it in a way that is hard to imagine now. It seemed like we had cookouts and campouts and parades going on all summer long.

I know the theme I know the theme!!! Musical with LOTS of parts so all the kids can be in it!!!!! (And she probabaly has to get it approved by the school board)

Here is an interesting Hot Rock story. When the film opened here in LA it was a complete disaster. No one went. Played in Westwood to empty houses. Fox decided to try something interesting - they had "free" performances - you could literally go in to any showing and see it for free for several days. No one went, not even for free.

DR Jason: Are there really "powers that be" who wander around checking Community Theatre productions to make sure that they haven't made any changes to the original script?

When the Vixter was in Peter Pan people were practically begging the director to cut the parts of the maid, and the non speaking roles of the ostrich, kangeroo and lion. It only slowed down the action and added not a wit to the story.

She said that any changes like this would be a violation of the performance license and the theatre group would be fined and never given another performance license again.

I do not doublt that such language is written into whatever contracts are signed( admittedly I have never been involved in the administrative side of these things so I am entirely clueless.) but how strictly is such a clause enforced?

If you do have people that wander around from performance to performance checking on accuracy how much does the job pay and are there any job openings?
