Well, I had an esnipe bid in on a "partial" set of lobby cards from "The Barkleys of Broadway." The seller had six of the eight cards, but they included the title card.

I bid $180. Alas! The seller's reserve was "not met" and the auction died a stillbirth.

I HATE "reserves"....just state the minimum you'll accept and let folks decide whether or not to bid. I detest guessing games, and that's all that "reserve" crap is...a guessing game.

What? Are they scared to state how much they "hope" the bidding will get them?

I don't understand it.

Good Afternoon!

Well, my niece and nephew ended up coming over again earlier this afternoon, which mean that Uncle Jojo was ready for a nap after about an hour.

It really is sooo nice not having Alyssa run away from me screaming and crying anymore. In fact, she comes right up to me and gives me a big hug, "Uncle Jojo!" - which sometimes comes out of her almost three-year old mouth as "Uncle Dodo!" No complaints.

), with my friend Kevin. He's a fellow pianist/music director/conductor/etc. Things in his life are going well, and it looks like he's moving to Florida at the end of the year with his partner. However, he's going to keep his apartment in Brooklyn (Park Slope), and he'll probably be looking for a renter. So... We shall see...
