That's great that the Vixter enjoyed the show.

This is shaping up to be a really great all-nighter. It's still early, but I don't think I'm gong to have this paper any time soon.

Right now, I'm listening to my mom "discussing" the six and a half hour board meeting she just got out of.

What is the subject of your paper?

Now, I simply must put myself to bed. Despite having a relatively quiet day here, I did get the laundry done and my cleaning chores attending to, and now I'm absolutely exhausted.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Yeah, Vixmom, when I cancelled demanded my money back, another guy just told him to let me have the "display" slice. It should go without saying that that slice worth writing home about either.

Well I'm glad he "accomodated" you, I'm sorry it was still dissappointng

A publicity bio I just found on the net sums it up thus:

"Mathis’s lack of singles’ success led him to leave Columbia briefly for Mercury in 1963."

I did a little research on the Evan Hunter book - there are two copies in similar condition on the 'net - one is signed and goes for over six hundred bucks more than I paid, and the other copy, like mine, unsigned, goes for almost three hundred over what I paid.  In other words, I got a great deal.

Well, the aquarium I definitely recommend.

I've never been to the Statue of Liberty. You can get a good view of her for free from the Staten Island Ferry, and I don't dig heights, so I wouldn't be climbing her anyway.

I have been ordered to bed.  When I was a little girl and would be sent ot bed I used to grumble "When I grow up Ii'm never going to bed if I'm not sleepy and no one is gonna make me!!"

Ah, how wrong I was !

I recognize that she's a beautiful woman, but her charms totally escape me. I am not a fan.

LOL....I guess considering her career arc more people agree with you than with me...  ;D

OMG...DR TovOZ - I keep thinking I know about stuff....and then I come to HHW and get an answer that intrigues me as much as it informs me and is completely NEWS to me!   8)

Thanks!  ;D

Wish there were more of Homer & Jethro on CD DR Rodzinski.  They've only touched the surface. I may have to transfer all my singles. Loved their "He'll Have To Go" and "Please Help Me I'm Falling" etc.
(I'm also a Ben Colder fan).

You are correct Rodzinski, The above gentleman did turn out to be Raymond Scott, whose CDs I am now putting into my Amazon.com wish list!

JRand55, I think you might enjoy some of his music! It is fun!

Not so fast to Dreamland, must reply!

MBarnum, there is a neat collection that features some of Scott's collaborations with Jim Henson back in the early 60s.

Don't I know it, Tomovoz! Certain acts have had their careers really reduced by CD, but Homer and Jethro are so much more than just the parodies. And much of their music was marvelously produced by Chet Atkins. They are at the top of my wish list, currently. Next trip to San Jose, I am buying this one guy out of H&J Lps.
