Michael, you've apparently missed some notes.  I discussed this several times.  No, two weeks prior to the set-in-stone shipping date he blithely announced that his printers had told him they couldn't handle the job, and he was now having to search for new printers.  Buried in that notice was the fact that the book is still not finished yet, so what the printers have to do with anything is a moot point until the book is actually finished.  What he does, and what he's been doing for the last two years, is buying himself three months at a time - every time he's supposed to ship, something else goes wrong and then it's three months later.  He "says" that it will now probably be December.  Well, that's exactly what he did last year.  It won't be December, it won't be March, it will be the 12th... of Never.  I think the book has become an albatross - his Waterloo.

I did the nxt-to-last performance of AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND with no stage lighting. Lightning blew the circuits for the stage lights, but the overhead auditorium lights were still working, so we played the first act with the house lights on. VERY strange feeling doing that.

I'm sorry MY THREE ANGELS has been such a miserable experience for you, DR JRand. We'll hope for better with the next one!

And I didn't mean CHARLEY'S AUNT but the one you're rehearsing now. MY FAIR LADY, is it?

Enjoyed watching the rest of A STAR IS BORN this afternoon. It really looks nice in widescreen.

On to TIME BANDITS when I turn the TV back on later today.

Yep, I remember reviewing THE MORNING AFTER and not liking it much at all. That first time was the only time I've seen it or want to see it.

Well, I'm glad I'm not famous; the poor guy just passed away and all we learn now about him is that he was a bastard!
Cruel world, I say! :(

So, Sid was Judy's straight husband?

Most of us interested in Judy knew he was bastard long before he died. In his defense, however, he did have his hands full with Judy.

Matt H., MY FAIR LADY opens on September 30.  I will be leaving CHARLEY'S AUNT after next Sunday's (the 25th) matinee.

Have they found someone spectacular to replace you or will they close down?

Sid Luft is of course a supporting player (with a cool Bacharachian jazz waltz duet with Lee Mikesell called "Reclaim Your Star") in Starcrossed, my Judy and Frances musical.  I was warned by two people who knew Sid quite well that it might be best if Sid not know of the show ;).  His death makes that quite a bit easier, LOL.

For BK.  "Indian Lake" The Cowsills.
Without The Cowsills there would not have been a Partridge Family.

Bubblegum was a child of the late sixties - to cash on the pre teen market with Sing-a-long ditties. 1968/9 were the true years of "Bubble Gum" music.

As mentioned by JRand - "Buddah" was the label most associated with Bubblegum. As the bubblegum bubble burst, the label expanded to other styles - Melanie and Gladys Knight.

Buddah shut down in 1976 which helps explain why it is so difficult to obtain Melanie's "Candles In The Rain" album on CD.  Anyone out there?

Maybe, but from this article, we know he was crooked as can be! ;)
