Jane, I have never made a roll cake. Somehow, I think it would turn out to be a disaster.

Maybe I should attempt one at Christmas. It will probably turn out to be one of those Expectations/Reality things.

I'll keep the PSS-280 for myself.

When I opened up the box, I found the receipt from Service Merchandise dated 9/22/1989 for a cost of $108.88.

"Your name will be called at our Merchandise Pick Up Counter before 07:18 p.m."

Service Merchandise, now there’s a name from olden times.

I bought all my Corningware from Service Merchandise

I sang at a Thanksgiving church service tonight. Not as a soloist; just part of the choir.

The musical selections were quite trashy, to be honest.

And they had promised pie afterward during the fellowship time, but I guess someone didn't get the memo.

There was no pie.

I though, "If DR Laura had been in charge, there would have been pie."

Great news that you were able to get into a good dentist so quickly, BK.

One thing that always used to annoy me at certain department stores is that merchandise could only be rung up in its own department.

You couldn't walk around the store and find things and then pay for everything all at once at one register.

ANNOYING.

I've never been to a store that worked like that. :o

Sears, JC Penney’s, A&S, Macy’s, Gertz, Gimbals, Sterns, Saks, all the department stores around here in fact were set up that way

The Targets and Walmarts here have separate checkouts for electronics and for gardening

:) Can you give any examples?

Nothing you would know. Just trashy choir anthems that were probably written in the 70s that were trite and boring.

Not worth the effort of preparing them, at any rate.

But the choir did pretty well.

And mercifully, the sermon was quite short.
