I just watched the prequel to Eloise at Christmastime, which was Eloise at the Plaza, combining the first Eloise book with Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince and a bit of Cinderella. It's quite funny, and most importantly, the casts for both movies are retained so the Plaza staff from silent Max, the elkevator man, to Mr Peabody remain the same. Christine Baranski as Prunella Stickler has a wonderful scene at the hotel's mailbox, but Gavin Creel has a better role in Christmastime. It's on Amazon Prime, like Eloise at Christmastime, and if you loved the Eloise books as I did, you'll habve a great time.
Hillary Knight has a cameo as a street artist and Eloise says (several times) "Think pink," which is Eloise's creator Kay Thompson;s song in the film Funny Face. It's a funny love letter to Manhattan and a wonderful set-up for the Christas holiday sequel, which is, I think, the better film.
