There's a restaurant supply grocery store nearby, and he's good about finding the things they mark down.

DR Laura, is this store open to the general public?
I have a friend in Phoenix who would really appreciate it.
May I share the location and information with her? Thanks!

It's in Tempe. It's called U.S. Chef.  McClintock just north of Southern.

Thank you, Laura!
I gave my friend this information, and she’s quite enthused.
She often cooks for a crowd.

In other news:

Special counsel Jack Smith has resigned from the Justice Department on Friday, officials said in a court filing on Saturday.

So, I learned in the meeting today that one of the parsonages in our District burned down. The minister lost everything. The church is about two blocks away and still stands. Pasadena.
Very sad news. 😢

Vibes for everyone affected by the fires.

Jeanne and Bruce, stay safe.

Vibes for the friends and family members of Jane. ❤️

Iris, sometimes he finds ten-pound chubs of ground beef, which I break down and freeze.

Also, I buy flour, sugar, and nuts there for the baking I do for the groups I host. Like 50 pounds of flour at a time.

Made this today in memory of Jimmy Carter.

Thanks for sharing this recipe, John G.
Lots of good recipes on that website, which I’ve been perusing.

Also, here's the vegetable box info:

And this is the one we used today. I just got an ad for this, so we tried it out for the first time:

Amazing deals! I like that you can order ahead of time and they have it ready to pick up.

This is "rescued produce," which means it was not purchased from the warehouse and would be hauled to the dump. You don't get to choose what you get; they load it in the car for you. It's not always top quality, but most of it is just fine. What we got today was terrific.

I keep forgetting that we have a Costco membership. We got it for one of the perks. But every time we go there, the lines are ridiculous and we leave.

She lives in Sedona, but drives to Phoenix quite often.

And the bad food of Saturday continues - got three tiny dessert things from a place called House of Pastry - chocolate mousse, creme brûlée, and raspberry mousse. The creme brûlée was disgusting and after tasting the mousse things I'm convinced they've all been sitting there for days. Blechhh again.

I have been so disgusted by everything I've eaten, that I just ordered some mac and cheese from Marmalade - I've had it there many times and really like it. Now, if IT'S bad then something is clearly rotten in Denmark.
