OCTOBERFEST AND THE CASE OF THE MISSING "D"S
« on: October 01, 2005, 12:18:06 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, you've filled in the missing "d"s, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're out looking for the rest of the "d"s.

"Tactile" not a touchy subject in my experience.

Interesting factoid: Last September was our worst month ever.  This September was our 4th highest month, posts-wise, and our 5th highest month, hits-wise.

Now, let's make October even BETTER!

Another note to those DRs who will be taking the Eating and Walking and Eating and Walking Tour next Wednesday...

9:30 AM
Rockefeller Center
Meet on the Plaza Level "behind" the statue of Prometheus (the one down in the rink area).
*And maybe we can all get on "The Today Show"!

Be there or be square!

*Otherwise, be at 1st Ave and Houston at 10:00am.

I knew I set Tivo up for the Today show for the week for some reason!  ;D :)

I also see that MBarnum is leading the way to the City of York.  About the time he's landing, I'll be leaving Tampa.

Safe Travels to all!  I hope the laptop works for me like everyone elses does.  I don't know if I'll be able to post while waiting for the plane but I will try.

It's 4:30 am and I'm up, I'm up! Actually, I've been up for two hours. :-\ I fell asleep around 8:00 while watching "I Want to Live!" and...well...here I am!

DR Danise: Tower Records Lincoln Center is selling the Guy Haines CDs, I believe. It's on the corner of 66th & Broadway.

Safe travels to all of you on your way (or leaving soon for) the Big Apple! Can't wait to meet all of you...

DR Hisaka: Welcome to Los Angeles! Glad you got there safely and that BK is showing you around.

TOD: My favorite ridiculous saying is something DR Sandra and I overheard while walking through a store. We overheard a young man telling his companions: "I didn't even put the fish on the shelf." We have no idea what he was talking about, but I've used the expression myself, from time to time.

Hey, FJL, there is an early dinner on Monday. 6pm at Barrymore's (45th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, closer to 8th, kitty corner across from the Golden). Join us if you can.

Ginny, Walking Down Broadway got a very good review in the New York Times today. If you do have a ticket, sounds like you'll be seeing a good show.

Even though she won't see this (unless she looks at HHW from Mr. BK's home environment) until she gets back, WELCOME TO LOS ANGELES HISAKA!!!

Three weeks till deadline and still so much to do!

Off to work.

If all goes well Mr. Barnum should be landing in about an hour.

I assume the fire escape is prepared :-)

'morning, DRs Ben and elmore!  I just heard a plane go over Ohio - do you suppose it was MBarnum's?  Or Danise's?

I'm up early this Saturday to go to Columbus for an AAUW state board meeting - all in all, I'd rather be on my way to New York!

Ben, thanks for the tip about the NYTimes review.  I'd been watching for it, but wouldn't have checked this morning without your prompt.  I think I will try to get a ticket for Tuesday night by going to the box office Monday afternoon.

Elmore, have fun this weekend - see you Monday!

Here's a stupid saying for ya: "The thing I hate most about insomnia is the lack of sleep."

I woke up about 2 am. It is now 4:15 am. My alarm is set for 5 am, so I just gave up.

Good morning, all!  The fire escape still needs dusting, and I've told the roaches there will be a stranger (how strange is still the question) in and about for the next few days.

It's amazing how schedules work:  I had no work on my week in Ohio, and this week I have two jobs:  a chart for the Rockettes and the New York City Gay Men's Chorus and an orchestration for Leslie Uggams.  It may curtail some of my playtime with the New York guests this week, but I promise not to let it get crazy.

I figure on Monday, if everyone staggers in between 6-6:30 (DRRodzinski!), we'll have eaten and got ourselves to various and sundry places by 7:45.

Thanks, DR Ben.

I barely slept last night as well.

I like going on trips but the hardest part for me is saying bye to Mom and the dogs.  I'm always crying in the van on the way to airport and I know the guy thinks I'm nuts.  I'm ok once we're on the road but till we get down the street......
