I read this morning that NBC has given MY NAME IS EARL a full season order. That makes the second show this season which has been picked up for the entire season (Fox's PRISON BREAK was the first).

I hope all of our NYC h/k's enjoy their field trip today, and hopefully we'll have pictures and stories galore throughout the day.

Also, hoping DR Hisaka has an uneventful flight back home.

GREETINGS FROM WUSSBURGERVILLE!

Although I have been E & T to an extreme degree, I will be joining the New York contingent today, somewhat late, but definitely for dinner.

I am going in to the city to see a friend I haven't seen for over twenty years--whom I met, FJL will be interested to know, at the BMI Workshop.  After that, I will give Jose a beep to find out where all of y'all are and try to intercept you.

Gotta catch a train.

Ciao for niao, as Jason is wont to say.

Hi, all, thanks for the emails, etc.--I'm here, just busy.  Unlike Ann, I fear I shall never catch up.   ;D

Happy New Year.  We're off to second day services as I had to work yesterday.  Blecch.

Haven't completely read the posts over the past few days, but does anyone else think that Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers and "Darren's mom" Mabel Albertson were separated at birth?  Oy, the eye liner.

Here's some hilarity from my sister:

Class Project Gone Wrong

Class uses clown planters to plant cactus.  Students were not allowed to take home the project (see below).

Well, they ARE clowns, after all. They're supposed to make us laugh!

Thanks for the hilarious pic.

I'm up, I'm up, and the sun is shining and the sky is blue, not necessarily in that order.

A very happy haineshisway.com birthday cheer to former dear reader Jenny!

Those kids today - too busy for the likes of haineshisway.com.

I was thinking of Food of The Gods which I think was a Bert Gordon film. Among the large creatures were killer rats and WASPS (not the human kind).

I remember seeing this in a drive-in, shortly after we moved here to Washington!  We moved here in late 1976 and there used to be a drive-in in town...but no more.  Now it's a Fred Meyer.

elmore & Matth, how could I forget NIGHT OF THE HUNTER, another great Mitchum movie.  I'm also fond of RACHEL & THE STRANGER.

British comedy great, Ronnie Barker, of THE TWO RONNIES, has died.  Some may remember him as Friar Tuck in the elegiac ROBIN AND MARIAN.

And I like OUT OF THE PAST almost as much as NIGHT OF THE HUNTER.

And someone mentioned RIVER OF NO RETURN. I rewatched it a few days ago on the HDTV. The color has faded a bit from it. I'd love to see a real restoration job done on it.

All four of Marilyn's songs in that movie are treasurable.

Warning!  Bodily functions discussed below!

I'm also up.

And at work.

I'm congested.  Have been for about a week.  I'm hacking up some gross stuff every morning (sharing is a WONderful thing!).

I'm apparently not the only one, either, as some co-workers are hoarse and congested.  We don't feel sick, necessarily.  But we're producing more than usual amounts of phlegm.

Again, sharing.....

One Mitchum that's rarely mentioned is one of his 70s films - Farewell, My Lovely, which I love him in.
