Finally! My REWIND arrived this morning, with a wonderful prize. Thank you, dear BK.
Since I can’t read so fast as every dear reader did/does/will do, will enjoy it a little at a time.  So I’d have a quite longer pleasant time than theirs.

And vixmom - I'm waiting so patiently, don't you think?

Favourite kids' album:  Gossamer Wump, narrated by Frank Morgan.

BK, sorry to hear The Dress Circle is ingoring your invoices.  Shame!

I used to both like and be scared of Sparky and the Piano or whatever it was called.  I loved Danny Kaye records.

I was downloading a Marcy song and forgot I was doing it.....I went on to other things....then suddenly my room was filled with this VOICE!  Whew!

Well we have certainly created a Marcy and Mary sales blip if nothing else.

No wastrels here on HHW.

I would doubt that Marcy has photo approval on the cover of a $1.98 album, but I could be wrong.  Is it in S T E R E O P H O N I C sound?

Two albums that I LOVED when I was little are:

THE KIRBY STONE FOUR SING - funny songs and vaudeville songs...purchased at a grocery store for 88 cents.

JOHNNY MATHIS BROADWAY - beautiful songs.  My aunt got it from the Columbia Record Club and didn't want it.  "Small World" "You Are Beautiful" "Namely You" and some others.  I love that album still!

And some 45's (Joey, those were 7 inch records with a big hole in the middle that had one song on each side).

Joanie Sommers "Johnny Get Angry" b/w "A Summer Place"....Joanie's version of the latter is still my favorite EVER of that vocal....beautiful. On the great RED Warner Bros label!

Connie Francis "Vacation" - I don't think I ever played the flip side. On the MGM black labe.

Bobby Vinton "Roses Are Red", on the EPIC yellow label.

What?

Again, you ask?

Yes.

Sigh.

And, again, waiting for a sinus tab to take effect.

I am feeling much better, however, and the severity of symptoms has abated.

I am also fasting as I am having some blood drawn a few hours from now for some annual bloodwork with my doctor, whom I see one week from today.  I hope I shall be getting my influenza vaccine on that date, as well.

Has anyone else here received his or her influenza vaccine yet?

Tomovoz must have dozed off at his keyboard.

That or he's out feeding the birds.

Yes....I am envisioning him feeding the birds....tuppence a bag...tuppence...tuppence...tuppence a bag.

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]SPOILER POTENTIAL SPOILER POTENTIAL SPOILER POTENTIAL SPOILER POTENTIAL SPOILER POTENTIAL[/move]

"Lost" -- Last night's episode was particularly good, I thought.  Sun and Jen are two of my favorite characters and their current activities, plus the back story material leading up to their first encounter, was poignant and moving.

I am intrigued, to say the least, about "the others"...about who they are, why they are, and how it is they move about in such secrecy, spreading fear among those who have encountered them before.

And what is happening in the next two weeks that we won't get a new episode until three weeks from now?

Is ABC doing something special?

I recorded, but have not watched, last night's "Invasion."  I'm still very skeptical about this show, but it's attractively cast and the story moves quite well.

We still shall see...

I watched, yesterday afternoon, "The 7 Faces of Dr. Lao."  It was the first time I'd seen the film, I am surprised to say, since I thought I had it on VHS (in storage), but I'm fairly certain I'd remember having seen it.

What a fun movie!  The Dr. Lao/George Pal elements kept it just on the edgier side of being "Disneyesque."  I was a tad disconcerted by the actions of the young boy at the very end.  While he has seen his mother soften toward a man the boy respects and wants her to see, he is nearly grief-stricken that Dr. Lao has left town without him.  I could understand if it was for leaving without saying goodbye.  But he seems nearly hysterical that he is being left behind...as reaction that is strange since Dr. Lao told him earlier that he couldn't be part of the circus.

It struck me as a wrong note...but perhaps it was the only note that could be obtained from the lad.

Tomovoz is gone.  Without comment.  Possibly without even having seen any comments made by me about his "lurking" status.

Just...POOF...he's vanished from lurkdom.

Perhaps, though, the Birds got him...swooped in upon him and disconnected his power and -- even now -- are roosting on every square inch of his property waiting for him to dare set foot outside.

I do hope Magnus and Fosca will protect him.

So, which one of you Oregonians took home the winning $340 million Powerball Ticket?

You could afford to fly all the Hainesies AND Kimlets to Oregon in First Class for a wonderful party and still have money left over to fill up your gas tank  ;D

Good morning, all!  I slept late since I will not go into the recording office until noon.  I missed the glamour of laundry yesterday, so I have to face it this morning.

Dear Friend BK, the Drama Book Shop always had a hard time getting payment from a certain London book shop.  In the early 1990s the DBS wa their source for American titles and their account was always in arrears.

TOD:  Because my family was realitively poor, a lot of my albums were budget items my Mother found in supermarket bins that she thought I might like.  I had a lot of Camden/Hill Bowen show titles and a lot of 101 Strings.  I remember few albums from my childhood that I loved, but they included:
Whitmore and Lowe (duo pianists): Major Classics for Minors
Warner Brothers TV stars Christmas album
  The King & I soundtrack
Hansel and Gretel film soundtrack with Anna Russell
  Several Disney song collections

In order to win THAT way you would have to be extraordinarily LUCKY!  8)

Going to get my flu shot this morning and then maybe stop by the Dollar Store for a gander at any and all things.

TOD - My earliest memory of an album is my sister's 45rpm set of the Oklahoma! soundtrack.  I had a Chipmunks 33rpm that was transluscent red - wonder if that's still around?
