Of course when I refer to someone as a B actor, that is actually a compliment! LOL!

I still hate the Gag-Me Family.

DR JASON - don't give the juke-box musical people any MORE ideas.

Re: the Gaghan family with the little kids. I just don't like them. They seem smug. And yes it was sweet last night that the father was so supportive of the kids.  There is just something about them that rubs me the wrong way (and i adore kids).

I guess they never struck me as smug or anthing like that at all. What I love is that the parents are so supportive of the kids and encourage them, and that the two little kids are so interested in everthing that happens and are eager to do the competitions (I was so surprised that the little kids were willing to do the bungy jump!) and they are in awe of each different place they go to, and they are very well behaved.

Maybe I don't like them because to me they are symptoms of what ruined THIS version of the game.  I liked the two-person teams MUCH more.  That COULD be it.  8)

MattH, no, Psycho was not a Paramount film in the sense that you're implying it is - the film was financed by Hitchcock and released by Paramount.  He used the crew from his TV show (Universal), and he'd already made his deal with Universal and his offices were on that lot.  Psycho was shot at Universal, and Mr. Gavin was put in the film by Universal (Hitch's agent had just been made head of Universal).  I'll ask again - has Mr. Gavin ever made a film for any studio other than Universal?

I know he went to Italy like so many other actors who couldn't make it in Hollywood! But I don't think he had much success, there either, which is why he seemed more like a B actor to me.....Ok, I will give him an A- status.

Despite everthing, I have always liked John Gavin and he even autographed a photo for me back in the early 90s.

Now, I may be shot for saying this, but...

I've always felt that if someone were going to do a jukebox musical, why not do one using the songs of Diana Ross & the Supremes. Not a "Diana Ross & The Supremes" musical - we've already got DREAMGIRLS - but a show using those songs.

I agree...and what better twist on things than to do it with a young male singing group???

Was "The Madwoman of Chaillot" a Universal film?

Everyone really ought to read the Amazon write-up on "Titanic" under the new 3-DVD set page.

The writer starts off with a clueless statement about how this film's delayed release had all of Hollywood  buzzing about how it could be the financial ruin of PARAMOUNT.

Anyone who loves films, and "Titanic" in particular, OUGHT to know that this film was made by 20th Century-Fox, in Fox facilities, with financial support from Paramount (not to exceed $65 million, from what I've read).  Primarily, Paramount got U.S. (or North American) distribution rights, and Fox got the rest.  Paramount made out like a bandit...and no Paramount resources/personnel, apart from the cash/accountants...had a thing to do with the film, production-wise. Or so I've presumed from all that I've read.

What an odd day its been ,

what a rare mood I'm in

locked in a psycho ward with a dozen crazed maniacal killers all of whom envision me as the person they hate most in the entire universe

So how you doin'?

At the moment, there are only four of us in here with you.

But...I'll grant you poetic license.  If you see us as "a dozen", then we are "a dozen"....

Hi all,

I'm going through my photos from the trip.  Hundreds of them and so many didn't turn out!  I can honestly say that I do need a new camera.  The screen is so small on mine that what looks good small doesn't when it is blown up to normal size.

I'm fixing red eyes, dark spots, etc.  I started on this project yesterday but it's taking forever!

I'm just checking on name spellings and I'd better get back to work!

Oh no!  I just saw a Pacific Care ad about Prescription Coverage for older folks that featured EXTENSIVE footage of Vivian Vance and William Frawley from two episodes of I Love Lucy - voices were overdubbed so that they were talking about the Pacific Insurance program....they used the names Fred and Ethel AND they played part of the LUCY theme song.

OH OH OH!!

Lucie and Desi, Jr are selling out.

JRand54, I see that you have a review in the upcoming Scarlet Street!

I have nothing in this issue, but am told I will have an interview in the following issue.

I am supposed to have an interview in the next issue of Filmfax, however, which should be on store shelves very soon...I hope.

One of our local restaurants (a sort of Italian-Mexican fusion sort of place) has added a new entree to its exotic menu:

Lacuna Piccata (I understand the waiter does a little song and dance when he or she serves this dish).

I have a question for all you DRs out there in the dark...

I'm looking at the Alfred Hitchcock Presents DVD set and wondering, what is the run time of each episode - 30 or 60 minutes?

Is anyone a fan of the British 1950s series THE INVISIBLE MAN? If so, it is being released on DVD!! I watched it when the Sci-fi Channel used to show it, some years ago....I loved the show!
