Well, you've read the notes, the notes have boggled your mind and you are now as boggled as a boggled BK, and now it is time for you to post until the boggled cows come home.

BK, yesterday (actually, just a little while ago), you wrote:

And George, when may we expect The Yiddish Sondheim?  Steve is waiting patiently.

I got it back from Larry (my sister's boyfriend), but there's a kind of a snag.  Do you know the difference between a DVD"-"R and a DVD"+"R?  I don't.  The problem (and maybe it's not really a problem, just me wanting this to all work) is that Larry transferred "The Yiddish Sondheim" onto a DVD+R.  I put it in the DVD player that I use the most (I actually have three DVD players) and it wouldn't work at all!  It gave me an error message!  I then put that DVD+R into the player in my bedroom and it played fine, no problems.  So obviously that first player can't play the "+".  I copied it onto a DVD"-"R and that played in my first DVD player, but it wasn't widescreen, like the original!  It showed it full-frame and I couldn't scan back and forth, at all.  I then took that copied DVD-R into my bedroom player and it played perfectly fine and was widescreen, too.

So, for best results, I am going to send you both the DVD+R and the copied DVD-R.  Then, you can send both of them and Steve will more than likely get a good working copy, either way.  I'm sorry it took longer than the Alexis Smith clip, but if this is going to Mr. S himself, I just want to make sure that everything does work. ;D

Perfect sense, except I don't know the difference, unless it's that one is rerecordable media - that should have nothing to do with playback, however.

Nope, neither one is rerecordable.

Good morning, all!  I had a lovely dinner last evening with my librarian friends from Tams-Witmark and other environs.  Charlie Harmon brought along a librarian from the Royal Opera House, a trumpeter who had studied with my friend John Wallace, hopefully soon to be Sir john, one of the great trumpeters.  After dinner, we all walked a block to see our friend Finn's new condo, and I went home, read the mail, watched LAW & ORDER SVU (repeat) and passed out.

This morning I have laundry, Act II notes for Toyland to work on, and then a dress at Carnegie Hall at 1:30.  I'll meet Mark Robinson at 7:30 and we'll attend the concert.  I will try to stop in occasionally today.

I don't think I'm on their mind for them to misunderstanding me.  But, I can say that over the years the fact that I do more than one thing well confounds people and even annoys them - the entertainment industry loves to shoehorn people into little boxes, and I've never been one for that, probably to the detriment of my various careers.

Now, what in tarnation am I doing up at six?  And why is the jernt empty?

DR Laura, there is a picture of cake in yesterday's posting. No ice cream though.

Hello all. We are about to leave for the final day of bag packing and then it's time to get ready for the trip. I must learn more about Cardiff, I must pack, I must get a haircut, I must go to my office holiday party tomorrow evening, I must do one last load of laundry before we leave. I must call for the car service to pick us up on Friday afternoon, I must plan for a possible transit strike on Friday morning at 12:01am which may affect getting to the airport in time for check in, I must give my neighbor upstairs our departure and return dates so he can pick up our mail, I must pay two bills on-line so they will be up to date when we return and I must listen to Showtime on Radio Wales to see if I will be broadcast during the segment. I have much to do and little time in which to do it so I leave you now to return later in the day (or evening as the case may be).

I had to be at the office very early this morning for a meeting with my client and probation. Now that is over so I must get a lot of little things done while I wait until court at 4:00 pm.

We were supposed to have a snow storm last night, but it didn't get cold enough. Mostly just rain and slush - not enough for a snow day

Looking forward to THE FIVE PENNIES which I always enjoy and have since the first time I saw it.

Yes, Mr Danny Kaye did some movies that I don't enjoy - and I didn't watch his TV show very often.  But WHITE CHRISTMAS, THE COURT JESTER, THE FIVE PENNIES, and HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSON are so joyful and enjoyable that all the other stuff doesn't matter.

Why, even Carroll Baker made a couple of movies I don't like.

I was pleased with the result of TAR last night.  Even though we had to look at the Gagans' mugs for a bit.  :)

I didn't check to see who won the car.

I am most excited about the NEXT TAR that starts in February - it looks like they are going to some GREAT places!

Are the tickets for the play on sale yet, MR BK?  Are there any ads in the papers yet?

Do you have a copy of the LOGO for the title?

Are you getting two separate credit lines:

or will it say
