Oh, Lordy!  I've been listening to the OCR of DESSA ROSE this afternoon, and--even though I knew what she was going to say before she said it--LaChanze's final line has made me all verklempt.

Due to q quick lunch, I was able to squeeze in some SUPERMAN episodes from the second disc of the set along with the three shows from last night.

Enjoyed all the SUPERMAN episodes, especially "Superman in Exile." The reactor that makes Superman radioactive is a fairly laughable special effect now, but when I was a kid, that machine scared me to death.

BONES had two cases, the more interesting a which took the scientist and the FBI man (Bones and Booth) to LA to investigate a prostitute who had been torn apart by coyotes. What made the case interesting was the scientist's utter disdain for cosmetic surgery and the beauty of each person's natural uniqueness. Nice to hear it spoken aloud, even if it was by one of the loveliest actresses on TV.

VERONICA MARS had more of a caper and less of a mystery this week, not one of my favorite episodes. However, there was one sequence featuring Veronica and her dad which brought tears to my eyes.

And CSI: NY also had two cases to investigate. The better of the two involved the death of a subway surfer. Who knew people actually do this?

The other case involved the death of a stockbroker with a pretty obvious solution.

What is this Dessa Rose thing everyone is talking about?  I am from Indiana, I don't know what that is.  What is it?  Is it based on anything?  Is it like Delta Dawn?

RE: LOST

Vixdad and I now appear to be the ONLY  humans in the western hemisphere who have never seen this show.

I've only seen it once, and that was more than enough for me.  Such is horseracing.

I remember well your dismissive comment re the plot line and acting DR Jed. We have not watched it at all.
I respect your taste in such things. Of course DP Colin and I may be the only people in the Southern Hemisphere not to watch it.

My copy of "Dessa Rose" has yet to arrive.. Maybe today.

Had to log out abruptly earlier because I was having a real "Dilbert Moment" here at work.  I called our systems geniuses to ask them to install the color printer on my desk computer and they said, "Not without your manager's approval."  Oy.  When my manager got back from his meeting, he said, "I don't care if everybody in the department has it."  So, once I had the approval of someone who hasn't been alive as long as I've been a member of the American Library Association, the systems geniuses had to wave their magic wands over my computer.  End of Dilbert moment.

DRJASON - therapy is like an aspirin when you have a headache.  It is usually JUST what someone needs, if they are wise enough to take it.  Congratulations.

DR MATTH - so how are things looking on the date front?

Thanks for asking. He took a half day off from work last Friday, and we spent part of his free time together. We had lunch on Sunday, talk on the phone every night or so, and are having lunch again tomorrow. So, things proceeding slowly but surely.

He lives out of the city, way on the other side of the county from me, so quick meetings are difficult. He's also a volunteer with several organizations which require a large part of his free time. So, I am pleased with how things are going, but we're definitely not breaking any speed records.

Do you mean BAKER STREET?

And then there's also TRIXIE TRUE, TEEN DETECTIVE.

Ooo!  I forgot about Baker Street, which is FINALLY being released on CD with bonus tracks!  But as Tomovoz pointed out, I meant Leslie Bricusse's Sherlock Holmes:  The Musical.

Well, awards certainly don't mean everything, but LOST did win last year's Emmy for Best Drama, this year's Golden Globe for Best Drama, and was Show of the Year for the National Association of TV Critics last season. Industry professionals certainly seem to like it, and it was among the Top Ten most popular series in the ratings last year and so far this year, so the general public seems to like it, too.

So, there is support for it out there as well as with a few of us at HHW.

My friend, Sal, put it this way. He said, "therapy is like having someone organize all the stuff that's floating around up there and helping you to put it in order." That's exactly what I need.

Nice to know where I stand with you, DR Tomovoz.

At least we have Jonathan Livingston Seagull and also Judy Dench's "A Little Night Music" in common Ron.  LOL.

I guess what we need is "Steel Beaches the Pop Idol Reality musical". LOL

Off to do the cleaning chores and then settle in for a marathon night of NBC comedies (with ABC's CRUMBS at 9:30) and WITHOUT A TRACE while the DVR picks up SMALLVILLE, THE OFFICE, and CSI for later viewing.
