Last night's PWOJECT WUNWAY was interesting.

One of those dumb challenges - make a dress out of flowers and plants - but some worthy projects and an appropriate elimination.  I would have chosen a different WINNER, though.

I watched SCANDAL un film du Akira Kurasawa....made in 1950 and starring Mr Toshiro Mifune and Miss Shirley Yamaguchi.

It has been discussed in these here notes before.

I enjoyed it very much.  Mr Mifune plays a hip painter who rides a motorcycle who offers a ride to a stranded stranger who is a famous singer....he realizes later.  They are photographed standing on the balcony of a hotel...and the tabloid press proclaim them SECRET LOVERS!!

A young Mr Mifune is VERY handsome and Miss Yamaguchi is lovely.

I liked the film very much....

Back from my second visit with the shrink. I got a lot of things out. It was good. I cried just a tad, but other than that, no breakdowns.

No breakdowns, that is, until she handed me the bill for my initial consultation! Apparently she forgot that I'm covered by my insurance so that I only have to pay $25 per visit. She tried to charge me 50% of the initial consulation, which was $220! I'm in the wrong business....

Are you a psychiatrist on the side or am I missing a joke?

In any case, $220 per hour is RIDICULOUS!

Re: Commander and Chief

I don't watch it, but I heard ABC will show new episodes all February for Feb sweeps. But it will be on hiatus all of March. And it will return in the spring for the last episodes.  I'm sort of surprised since it has gotten good reviews and Gina Davis just won the Golden Globe for the show.

I read this on Playbill Online this morning.

Audra McDonald will be in a new show on the WB starting March 22nd.

I actually really liked the show she was on a couple of years ago (Mr. Sterling). It's a shame that show never really got a chance.

Yes, that is definitely true.  Every card has a different meaning depending on the cards around it, its position in the run, the direction it is facing, and its location relative to the card before it and after it.  8)

In other news...

I just spent the past hour or so going through some of my old clothes.  I was able to keep about five shirts and four pairs of slacks.  *The slacks - well, actually Banana Republic khakis and chinos - are also "old" - I bought them almost three years ago hoping that I would be able to squeeze comfortably into them someday...  Well, that someday is here (well, almost here), so...  **Yes, they were on sale, and I just couldn't pass it up - three of them still have the original tags on them, never been worn!

The rest of the clothes are being laundered and/or are in the trash.  And I'll be making a drop off at Goodwill tomorrow.  I have a couple shirts I remember buying in high school!  And which are now way too big for me - Was I ever really an XXL?!?!?  *And a few of them were part of Britches (purposely) over-sized line, so...

There was one truly laugh out loud moment...  I came across a baseball-type jersey, a Mickey Mouse one.  When I tried it on, the term "tent" came to mind.  I could actually wrap it around me!

Miss Linda Purl has come and gone, and we have a tentative order and structure for the show - we'll start singing through it next week to see how it feels and plays.

Now I must do some errands and get some luncheon.

We were treated to a nice spread for lunch today.  We had hired a new business analyst who started on Monday.  We took him to lunch only to have him e-mail us the next day that he was not coming back.  The recruiter at the agency he came from was so embarrassed by this knucklehead's behavior that he sent over a deli lunch today.  Many varieties of sandwiches, hot and tasty french fries, pickles and olives, soda and a large plate of cookies and brownies.   Not bad--not bad at all.

What did you say to him at that lunch, DR DtM?  :o
