DAY AND NIGHT
« on: February 04, 2006, 12:11:15 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, you are pondering the day and night situation, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're trying to figure out what the HELL I'm going on about.

Good Morning!

Note to self:  No more sugar after 10:00pm... -Molly, our director, had champagne, sparking cider and cookies waiting for us as we left the stage tonight - sort of a "Have A Great Closing Weekend" thing.  -I had some of the cider - very good - and the cookies were YUMMY!

And now...

Hmmm TOTD.... There are so many to choose from...

Love Shakespeare so I have to go with my favorite qoute from the bard...

This from Act 2 Scene 6 of Romeo and Juliet....

Amen, amen! but come what sorrow can,
It cannot countervail the exchange of joy
That one short minute gives me in her sight.
Do thou but close our hands with holy words,
Then love-devouring death do what he dare;
It is enough I may but call her mine.

Favorite Musical one comes from a number in the musical Grease

"Look at me I'm Sandra Dee, lousy with virginity... I wont go to bed until I am legally wed!

As for the Topic of the Day....

Almost anything in Sunday in the Park With George.  However...

"The choice may have been mistaken, the choosing was not.  Move On."

...is my all-time favorite lyric.

And from Violet...

"There's honey in the bushes, Lord, and water in the well."

...Whatever the frell that means.  ;)

And I'm sure other ones will come to my mind once I awaken after a good night's sleep...  but before I do...

I know it's not Wednesday, but...

BK - Have you missed a performance of Deceit?  Do you plan to miss an upcoming one?  Or are you just seeing where your days and nights take you?

Just curious.

One quote that I use ALL the time is "How Rude!" from Scrambled Feet. ;)  It's really the way that it's said on the recording that I quote and nobody that I know knows the history behind it. ;D

Just to be clear on the topic of the day - not talking about lyrics.  Talking about classic lines of DIALOGUE from musicals and plays.

For example, "Sing out, Louise."  Or, "Then mother of God, why do I feel so lonely?"  Or, "I always think there's a band, kid."

I haven't missed a performance yet.  I'm sure I will start, but I'm finding it difficult to do given the erratic behavior of one cast member in terms of his performance.

The day I see four terrific and consistent performances in a row will be the day I start missing some of the shows.

Yesterday (Friday), I got a package from amazon.co.uk!  In it were two DVDs for my niece (she has a DVD player that can play PAL DVDs, but not Region 2 DVDs...we'll see if it works) and one for me.  The one for me is the "Collector's Edition Double DVD Disc Set of "Les Misérables:  10th Anniversary Concert At the Royal Albert Hall" and it only cost me £8.48 (although it's a little cheaper, right now).  It's enhanced for widescreen TVs (not that I have one, yet).  I got it because it's not available on DVD in the US and I only have it on VHS and it has a really cool box!  Actually, the picture in the amazon.co.uk listing is a little different.  The colors on the box that I got are not as bright and some of the wording is different.  It doesn't say "THE DREAM CAST" in bold letters at the top and under the title, it says "10th Anniversary Concert At the Royal Albert Hall" instead of "In Concert.  More Powerful Than Ever."

So, it'll be fun to watch that! ;D

Oops!  I'm a goon.  Les Miz In Concert actually is available on DVD in the US (I was thinking of the superbit DVD version), but it was still cheaper to get it from England because I made my niece pay for shipping because she bought TWO DVDs!  Ain't I a stinker? ;)

I'm sad about "The Woman in White" as I probably won't ever get to see it.  Oh well.

There are several lines of dialogue from "Hello, Dolly!" that are great, too tired to list them at the moment.  But even though this is my 4th time in the pit for the show, I still laugh!

It sounded familiar to me, so I looked it up.  I won't post in case someone knows without looking it up. ;)
