We are all cleaned up and about ready to retire but I had to mention that Anthony Mr. Rodzinski (AKA Tom), TPunk (AKA Antonia) and I had a wonderful late afternoon/evening get together. Much talk was talked, food was eaten and games were played. UNO and Initials. We taught them how to play Initials and converted them! It's a great game and maybe tomorrow I'll explain the easy rules. Right now I'm tired and we are going to bed.

Later folks!

Good evening!

I watched and thoroughly enjoyed once again HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN. And I'm looking forward to the release of GOBLET OF FIRE in the next month or so.

After I finished the movie, I flipped over to ABC to see some of HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE broadcast in HD.

Looked OK, but didn't blow me away. The folks who mastered this film for the high definition network broadcast reformatted the film in a 1.78:1 ratio (it was 2.39:1 in the theater). That did not delight me.

Astonishing to see the same actors from AZKABAN at the start of their POTTER careers looking SO young and inexperienced.

I flipped over to TNT-HD to see their high definition broadcast of JURASSIC PARK III. It looked better than ABC's HD POTTER movie, but then, this one hadn't been reformatted either.

Forgettable (but very exciting) popcorn flick though it may be, I much prefer this sequel to Spielberg's "official" sequel THE LOST WORLD.

So, I'm going to head down now and get in bed a little earlier tonight than usual. Tomorrow is going to prove to be a very busy day.

Good Evening!

...One more to go...

And if I was talking tricks, trust me, I don't think I'd be counting down... I'd still be counting up.

DR JRand55, it was SOMETHING IN THE WIND, which I loved! I am surprised that Deanna Durbin isn't better known for her comedic timing because she was absolutely hilarious in this film! This is only the second Deanna Durbin movie I have seen...so I guess I had better add more to my NetFlix queue!

And now I am in the mood to watch more Universal movies...but normally I would put in a Bollywood movie...however, Saturday nights were made for monster movies weren't they..I should probably start watching some of the Universal monster boxed sets that I have gathering dust!

Such a dilemma!

...And as intermission was winding down tonight, I remembered that one of my brother's Coast Guard Academy classmates/friends was seeing the show tonight... And when I looked up into the house, there he was with his wife and their friends - there seats were right in my direct line of sight.  -Funny how things work out that way.

Bollywood won out and now I shall watch HARE KANCH KI CHOORIYAN (1967) starring Biswajeet, Naina Sahu, Shiv Kumar, and Helen.

A nice family film about some 30-something teenagers who must deal with severe ramifications when one gal gets preggers without benefit of marriage!

Jed have you begun your new job?  Can you now answer Dakota’s library question?

Still another week off until I start the job on the 13th!

Back from a completely sold out performance, and I mean completely, with five extra chairs in the back, four extra chairs in the aisle and most of the obstructed seats sold as well.  In fact, for the first time since we began previews, I did not see the play, as there was no place to sit.  From the lobby, it sounded like a fairly quiet audience, but it also sounded as if the actors were a bit off - going back to some bad habits (which happenes from time to time - then I give a note and we try to get it back to where it should be).  That said, at intermission there was a lot of buzz, and they got a very strong hand at the end of the show.  Two people came up to me and told me what a jerk they thought the Times critic is and how wrong they thought he was.  That's always nice to hear.  I left without saying goodbye to the cast, because I'm very frustrated with my usual actor and frankly I'm back at the point where I'd like to find someone else - he has a great show, then he has two shows where nothing works and I just don't have it in me to keep giving him the same stupid notes over and over and over again, even though when he finally manages to address them everything works.  One of our producers asked me if there'll be a time in the run when I don't come to every performance - my answer is simple: As soon as I see four shows in a row that are consistent.  Each actor has their own problem with consistency, but none worse with the actor who frustrates me most.

We have to decide on Monday whether we're extending beyond March 5th.  My instinct is to say no - because if we do I'm not having that actor do the rest of the run - and if we extend and I can't find anyone, I'll do it because I'd just like to hear the second act the way I know it should play.

Congratulations on 300 posts, DR DAKOTA CELT!

DR MATTH - you were of course correct in identifying my mistaken (it's a movie NOT a play or musical) post....it was Norma and Joe....

Isn't it interesting how often Mr Wilder used the name Sheldrake in his screenplays?

Given that it's Super Bowl Sunday and we have about twelve reservations for the matinee (although last week it was the same and we ended up with about thirty people) I'm probably going to not attend the matinee.

Mr BK - you know that Sir Noel Coward did his OWN plays.

I say - go for it.  Think of the publicity!  Then again, think of the makeup and the energy....  Then again, think of the applause!

Maybe Guy Haines would do it.  A few people would get a chance to see his face!

Tonight, I ushered for a concert The Laura Love Duo and The Righteous Mothers!  The Righteous Mothers are a local group that are celebrating 25 years of performing together.  They are funny and a little political and a whole lotta fun!  I'd never heard of Laura Love before but she and Jen Todd were very good.  I didn't get to see much of their act, though.
