Good evening!

spoiler  (in case someone Tivoed the game and won't watch until later tonight or tomorrow)- - - -

I actually stayed for the first half of the Super Bowl. Not that I watched that much of it, but the hosts did have a high definition TV, so we saw it optimally. The Sprint commercial was very funny. Otherwise, the first half was kind of a bore even with the Steelers' controversial touchdown.

Saw the final score after I finished watching the shows I wanted to watch when I got home, and I'm so sorry for the Seahawks fans here on the board. When the Panthers lost in their first Super Bowl appearance two years ago, I'm sure their fans felt the same way you do tonight. Be proud that your team was the NFC champions. No other team this year has that honor.

DR CILLA LIZ - if your plumber says 8:15....you can bet on 8:30....even if you're his first call of the day.  Someone always has an emergency.

I love the Flower Duet...it was also used to good advantage in TRUE ROMANCE, and that is the soundtrack where I found it, at last!

From JRand:I suggest SPRING PARADE, also with Robert Cummings

It's a lovely musical, and Deanna is probably at her prettiest in it, but I don't think it's available on DVD (at least not yet). It probably was issued on tape but I suspect it's out of print, too.

What did I watch tonight?  I'll tell you what I watched.

I finished Disk One of the ADAM-12 First Season Box Set.  These have been discussed here before, so I will only say that I enjoyed them VERY MUCH.  Lots of fun actors (Foster Brooks plays "Man" in several episodes). DRMBARNUM I saw Miss Dorothy Neumann and she was very good as a snoopy neighbor.   And of ALL people to show up...Miss Luana Anders as a hippy dippy space case whose 1958 Ford convertible was stolen...and who just happened to have an 8 foot boa constrictor in the trunk!

When I got home, I put in last Friday's MONK. Not the greatest mystery in the world, but a funny episode. I enjoyed it.

And Karen Black as the victim of a Peeping Tom putting HEAVY HEAVY moves on Officer Pete Malloy, who lost all the color in his face and his freckles stood out even more!

FInished up the evening with the first episode from the fifth season of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION. Lots of cases (three which was one too many), but the quality of the DVD transfer was stunning.

On the way to and from the Super Bowl party, I listened to FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT. I had had the CD for many months but just now got around to it.

The WICKED parody was hysterical, and I liked the Jerry Orbach impersonator (haven't read the liner notes; will do that in bed tonight).

Overall, the lyrics were pretty clever, but I don't think the impersonations as a whole were as inspired or as spot on as on other discs in the series (where the Gwen Verdon, Liza, and others were astonishing).

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of this Sunday.

Good night!

Good evening, fellow Dear Readers. A good time was had by all at our Super Bowl party. We played games and ate way too much food.

When Luana Anders came on ADAM-12, all I could think of was her yelling at Mark Damon...."Are those my stockings?   What are MY STOCKINGS doing here?  What did you say about me?"  Whew....and then her sister became Miss Indiana!

LOL, DR JRand55! Hope there will be an ADAM-12 season 2 someday! I noticed that season 2 of EMERGENCY just came out, so I would think that ADAM12 and DRAGNET'S second seasons ought to show up soon...I hope!

And I LOVED that Luana Anders episode! She just cracks me up!
