And I also agree with Simon about Kellie Pickler. She has loads of personality and a gift that needs refinement and training, but she's already more appealing than Carrie Underwood.

I don't watch American Idol but I turned the TV on early to get ready for HOUSE and caught the last three singers.... and caught Simon being nice to all three of them has he changed his personality or was this just a freak occurence?

No, he hasn't changed. They had better nights last night that the other girls, so he was kinder to them.

Two previous singers he both told to go ahead and book their airplane tickets home.

HEY!! That's my kinda tawk!! i thought your southern boys said "y'all!!!"  :D

(must be that CSI NYC rubbing off on you!!)  ;D

We do! A lot!!  :D

But as an actor, I have to experiment with dialects and accents all the time. I've never done an entire play with a Brooklyn/Bronx accent, but I did use it with the lead-in dialogue and throughout the "Mr. Cellophane" song in AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND. That was the director's choice for me to do it.

Besides the men singing on IDOL tonight, there is also a new episode of BONES (which has really benefitted in the ratings from the IDOL lead-in. Next week, it moves to 8 p.m. with IDOL after it.)

Yes, I'm up.  I managed to dress and drive to work.

Bedraggled, sleep-deprived and somewhat decongested.

The Thera-Flu worked well.  On my way to work this a.m., I stopped and bought some Sudafed...turns out I was taking tablets that had the minimum allowable decongestant medicine in them.  The stuff I bought this morning is three times as potent.

The Thera-Flu decongestant ingredient was also three times the potency of my regular tablet.  So...THAT's how bad it was.

I have had that kind of a congested nose and head in a long, long time, but I do remember how miserable it is to try to endure it especially while trying to sleep.

Hope things improve or at least that the more potent medicine helps some.

Well, I'm going to exit a little earlier than usual this morning. I have some tax information I need to organize. Yes, I'm going to attempt to do my own this year and want to have everything placed so I can have easy access to it once I start punching in numbers.

Hi everyone.

Well, I think I understand "Don't Push It" now.

The cab didn't come and pick me up until ten minutes before my doctor appointment.  I was several minutes late but since they make you sit almost a half hour before the doctor sees you it was ok.

I got a very good bill of health.  Let me just say that if you don’t like the way I drive, get off the sidewalk!   ;)

I was happy and bouncy, felt GREAT and spoke to the doctor about going back to work on the 20th.   He said we’ll see and wants to see me again next Friday.  He mentioned that most people take the full 6-8 weeks off.  I would be going back after only 3.

It took over an hour to get a cab home.  In the mean time I called my boss and told her I might be coming back early.  She wasn’t so sure.

When I got home and finished telling Mom everything the doctor said, I told her I was going to go into the living room and make a few phone calls.  I sat down for a few minutes to collect my thoughts and all of a sudden it felt like everything was draining out me.  I got soooo tired.  The more I tried to fight it, the more tired I got.

So instead of making any calls, I went in and lay down.   I slept all the way to this morning.

This morning, I made myself a cup of tea and had a honey bun with it.   As soon as I finished, felt like I wanted to hurl.  And I don’t feel all that good right now.

I can’t believe that going out just that little while could throw me so badly.  I think I shall be rethinking going back to work so soon.   :-\

LOL Danise! It all caught up with you! Yes, your body is trying to heal itself from all the carving into that has been done...I would suggest taking the whole amount of time off and just relaxing as much as possible...good time to rent all of those movies you have always wanted to see!

I remember when I had my thyroid removed...I was surprised at how much energy it takes out of you.

Oh, and I'm not going to share them but has anyone else ever gotten pictures of their insides from their doctor?

He kept one set for his records but gave me the other.  I found it both gross and interesting at the same time.

Actually, Simon isn't the real problem with the judges.  The REAL problem is Paula...she has nothing to say...parrots Randy's comments...and makes no worthwhile input to any of the singers other than:  "You look really nice tonight.  I just LOVE the tone of your voice.  You've always made me think you have talent."

What utter trivial rot.

The BEST judging came the night Paula sat in the first chair...forced to actually "say" something, she found herself having to make judgment calls rather than being a buffer.

This year, more than any other, I've found myself not only agreeing with Simon, for the most pat, but also finding no fault in his word choices.

After beating out tens of thousands of other wannabes, these finalists ought to be knocking our socks off.  Instead, the majority are boring me to tears.

I'm trying to delay taking my newly acquired decongestant as I'm still feeling the effects of the Thera-Flu....BUT, I'm suddenly quite congested...and things seem to be "bubbling away"....like someone deposited pieces of Alka Seltzer into my sinus passages.

No, I haven't noticed this at this point in time.

Feel better vibes for DR RLP....and road to recovery vibes for DR DANISE.

The PAJAMA GAME photos were well worth the Full File!

DR GEORGE  - what DRMATTH says about albums really can work....I always use the Encyclopoedia Britannica....several volumes place on the LP one at a time for a week or so....then check it and see if it needs more.  Those Capital albums are advertised as "unbreakable" on the LP cover, I think....
