IF I SEW CHEWS

Well, you've read the notes, you've sewed the notes, you've chewed on the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're sewing some chews and then they'll be on their mooey way.

Good morning, all! Because every dogwood on the block is blooming,  I took half of a Tylenol Nighttime allergy tablet last night to help me sleep.  The body is moving this morning, but the mind refuses to awake.  Would someone tell Val Lewton I'm ready for his next zombie film?

DRMichael Shayne, please tell Ms Gravitte I love her when you see her tonight.  In your honor, I'm listening to her MGM album as I type this.  I have a few errands to run this morning:  I need to stop at the Post Office before I go to Toyland, and I have to deliver some music to Ron Raines' copyist.

TOD:  Beef?  Brisket, and I make great vegetable beef soup.

Well....well....WELL!!!

We had 29 more children last night for a total of 53!  And most of them should have stayed home to do their school work.  But that's okay.  Just time consuming.

There are some callbacks for the children including Liesl with her assortment of Rolfs this evening which I will not have to go to....now that the Captain and Maria are chosen, I think choosing the children will be easier.  And seeing them all together will make it obvious.

BUT we didn't have many adult men audition....typical for most of our shows.  As we sat there I said:  "Well....give me until tomorrow night at the callbacks and I will come in and sing 'How Can Love Survive' for you and then you can decide if you want me to play Max...."

You would have thought I hit the director with a bag of cement.  He was determined that another man would play Max....  Well he's okay....but he is from Indiana and has NO idea what Max is or should be.  He couldn't even say impresario...never mind spell it.  He played Pseudolus and was okay....he played Marcellus Washburn and was okay...and he is a nice guy.  But he is NOT Max.  Oh well....after a bit, the director said, why don't you play Franz, the butler.   And I said.....why don't you find someone else to do that....

So there you are.....another typical production that could have had something (I'm not saying just ME, there were other choices, including the choreographer that could have helped a LOT)....nothing exciting, nothing interesting, nothing much to look at.  But at least with the voices, it will be nice to hear.

So of course my suggestion will be the same as Rita's.....with these people, let's do it on the radio.

One day my uncle took my brother out in his perambulator and when he came back he had a different baby and a different perambulator.

Well what did your mother say?

She didn't say anything.  It was a much nicer perambulator.

Tuesday morning greetings!  My software training late yesterday afternoon was very stress-inducing.  I needed all those coping strategies we discussed yesterday.

TOD - Years ago, my dad found a recipe in the newspaper for a slow-cooking casserole that uses stew beef, Lipton Onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, sherry, and fresh mushrooms.  You serve it over noodles.  Kind of like beef stroganoff, but not as much work.

I saw a friend of mine walking down the street last night, barefooted and pushing a perambulator.

I walked up to him amazed, 'cause I didn't know he had kids, much less a baby.

When I looked inside, I saw a rather large grey cat.

"Pardon me, Roy," I said.  "Is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?"

Favourite beef:

The brisket at Dr. Hogly-Wogly's Tyler, Texas' b-b-q right in VanNuys, California, is simply the best.

The Prime Rib at The Smokehouse in Burbank, California is simply yummy.

The single best steak I ever ate was a Filet Mignon in some jernt in the environs of Terre Haute, Indiana.  Terre haute, outside of Birmingham, AL., maybe the ugliest city I've ever been through, but that was one fine steak and fortunately the steak house wasn't  in Terre Haute proper.

Terre Haute proper.....  Three words rarely used in the same sentence, DR CP.

Have you thought anymore about coming up to see a show this summer?  Perhaps DRGINNY and DH RICHARD would like to join you and we could have a mini Midwest HHW gathering at a July performance of DEATH BY CHOCOLATE.

A quick post before I start my morning-after- trip-catching-up...

On Sunday DR Elmore, DR Jose, his friend, Andy and the DR formerly known as Panni had breakfast at the Renaissance Cafe. We talked and laughed and had a grand old time. (In fact they finally asked us to leave so the table could be used by new paying customers.) It was wonderful to see DR Elmore and to hear about Jose's Broadway adventures and to meet Andy. And if you think I'm making it all up, here's the proof...

I got the first of my errands tended to this morning: got my car inspected. Fortunately, there was no one in line, and the entire process took about 20 minutes. Now, I'm thirty dollars poorer but relieved I don't have to worry about this for another year.

Okay - for some reason the picture wouldn't post. I'll try one more time, then will have to wait until later. If anyone has suggestions - it's sized correctly, I did what you're supposed to do - but no success. Oh well.

And NBC is trying CONVICTION (a new episode, not a rerun) in the SVU timeslot tonight to see if it can attracted any more viewers from the low viewership of Friday night. Good luck with that.

Thanks for the info, DR Matt.
In that case, until the site is fixed, you'll have to imagine a group of devastatingly good-looking sophisticates about town, enjoying a morning meal. Sort of like the Algonquin Round Table - only at the Renaissance Deli.
Got the picture?

There have been plenty of photographs posted in the last few days, so I don't think it's the usual overload that we have once every few months, where Mr. Bakalor has to do a purge.

Now, might I just ask WEHT Rodzinski, TPunk, Ann, Jed, and a few others who have been unseemly and VERY errant and truant.

yes something is just out of whack with some browsers or something....not quite sure....  What browsers to DRS DAKOTA CELT and MBARNUM use?

Allison showed up and is quite fetching cluching her necklace and looking at what is supposed to be a giant from outer space, and is probably actually a teamster in a t-shirt with a cigar in his mouth waving a stick.    :P
