I was thinking of the Castle of Chillon because of my earlier post, and looked up some more info. No wonder the place felt haunted! I still remember some 20 or more years later, how strange it felt. I knew about the first part, but not about the witches... (The following is edited...)

Byron's companions in that weird, wonderful summer of 1816 were his incredibly handsome but slightly loony bisexual physician, Dr. John Polidori; his dark gypsy of a mistress, Claire Claremont; Claire's fey, fanciful stepsister, the brilliant Mary Godwin; and Mary's lover, the poet, Percy Shelley. ...They were aware of the grisly past of those ancient walls and battlements, had heard tales of the countless souls who'd been confined, tortured and executed there -- including hundreds of women condemned as witches and burned to death in the castle courtyard.

HaHa! Jane! You've given me a great idea. I'll make carrot-eating part of her stage business. Then I'll invite Jason out to the show. Then we're guaranteed at least one howl of laughter at one point during the run.

I love it!!

If I were there, boy would you hear some laughing!  Penny will attest to my "great" laugh once I get going.

Good Morning from OZ.  Just after 6.00am here.  A Good Friday with thunder storms.

The day has gotten more beautiful as time has passed. The clouds have drifted away and we have a totally blue sky now; high is 81.

DR MattH, re: AMERICAN IDOL and the American songbook category next week.  Rod Stewart is the singer this week. I've read that the choices are only HIS songs, but not all of them.

Not true. He is only guiding the finalists in song choices from the Great American Songbook; four of his CDs are based on those songs.

Gershwin, Arlen, etc. classics.

Becuase I had some errands to run after lunch, I only had time to watch the two hour long shows from last night.

First up was LAW & ORDER which was supposedly a rerun, but I don't remember ever having seen it. Had to do with a revenge scenario gone bad. Interesting case, but the jury conclusion was more than obvious.

CSI: NY had two cases. One was a sad story concerning a mental patient who dressed as Superman and tried to do good deeds. The other was the death of a just drafted pro football star killed after being drafted in the first round. The superhero story was by far the more memorable of the two.

Thank you all!  I credit your excellent vibes and xylophones on his coming through the surgery so well, and I believe your wishes will sustain him for a while.  I just booked the flight to Ohio, DR Ginny, May 5-12!

OK - I'm out of town May 5 & 6, but will be back Saturday evening.  I know your priority this trip is family, but we're available if you need to get away anytime.

Beautiful day, I must say.  I've been in and out, doing errands and working and whatnot.  Started the second scene of act one, then decided to save it for scene three and to start scene two in a different way.  I may take a jog, since it's so pretty out.  I'm not one for jogging on consecutive days, but I might just have to.

Heading down now to take care of household chores and then do some reading before settling in with prime time TV.

Went back and read what I wrote for the opening of scene two, and I liked it, so it stays where it is.

It is beautiful and for the first time all week I feel up to taking a walk, just one problem.  Keith had an appointment & I have to wait for a delivery.  I sure hope that delivery is on time.

I've been at the hospital visiting. It is a depressing place.
