My friend who comes to NYC with me will be in town this weekend for a race, and we're going out to dinner tonight and then watching a movie. I therefore may be on a little later this evening than usual.

Like, breakfast?

Ummm, I mean Medicare. And there are Seniors' Services agencies in the front of the phone book - very kindly folks who are salaried by the County, State, etc - who will tell you what is available FOR FREE, and even help you apply for all types of aid.

Actually Penny, you are right on both accounts.  Medicare does offer "chore services"; but also the Florida State Social & Health Services branch, should also have services available if she qualifies.  That is unless Jeb has cut all the programs!

Hey, Matt,

If I recall correctly, Sam's was your restaurant when you came to NYC. Well, it, like the others, is now history. Here is the link from Playbill On-Line:

There is now almost nowhere to go in Midtown for a decently priced, pleasant meal before a show. Diners are fine but sometimes you want something a little more that still isn't Lutece. As much as I like Joe Allen's, I find it very expensive for what it is, a former chorus hangout that is now a higher class joint.

Oh, well. What's a former actor (slowly joining the old fogey class juding from his complaining) to do? Nuttin' Just live with it.

I gotta get back to work.

Later, gaters.

Don't tell me that Beefsteak Charlie's is gone!

Ben water is very good for your muscles, not a time to be skimping on it.

So is Vicodin.

Darn, Charles, you should have said something a couple of weeks ago, I could have  had the Vixter kick him the knee for you when she met him  last month
 ;D

Your picture of Mr. Sorbo would tend to disprove the theory that eveyone looks better with their clothes on.

Well....I wished one of our information systems techs a happy 36th birthday, got a piece of carrot cake which was scrumptious, and then got an enormous compliment from someone who asked me when my birthday was...I told her the month, but said I stopped having birthdays when I turned 50.  She looked at me stunned, and asked how I could be 50...to which I replied, "I'm 57."  She refused to believe me...until a co-worker assured her I was telling the truth.

Ahh, Ron, you mean your avatar isn't current?

PS Just put on that cheery glow you had in NYC, and Keith will be happy.

Cillaliz you have never had mumps?  I know it’s scary you can still get it even with both vaccinations.  I do not want my boys to get this-I still have hopes one of them will make me a grandmother.

No my sister did and I think my brother did, but I never had them.

I don't think MattH has had very much rain to hold back.

And I'd think you'd welcome any rain at all to forestall another "brush fire" in the "brush preserve."

Well logically yes.... but I really want to get some flowers planted .  Its been dry, warm and sunny all week and now of course its supposed to rain from sun up Saturday until sundown Sunday......grrrrr

Well...I was gobsmacked and terribly pleased.  And shall ride this sugar rush through the rest of the afternoon.

Younger than Springtime.... that's you!!  I always thought you didn't look a day past 25!

You, sir, are generosity incarnate.

Technically. yes; however, I would avoid mixing underlining and italics in the same document as title indicators. (Actually, underlining is the typist way of telling a typesetter to use italics.)

I learn more stuff on this here site!  No wonder it is the most popular site on the whole internet!!

I ended up going to the little cocktail party - talked to a few interesting folks, but in hindsight I probably should have just stayed home, as my voice is now even more hoarse than it was before and I have to do this mentoring stuff tomorrow.  But, at least I have my badge and can get there about fifteen minutes later as I can go directly to the room where my stuff is happening.

And now for something completely different...before I leave work.  I just read an article that says that John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez are going to be in the new "Dallas" movie as J.R. Ewing and his wife Sue Ellen.  That's fine, but why do the "Hairspray" powers-that-be think that this face will be right for Edna??  I just can't see it!!
