BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ME

Well, you've read the notes, you've noted the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - but enough about them.

I have the London cast recording of Witches of Eastwick for listening.

We will probably finish up Slings and Arrows tonight.

We have birthday dinner to attend tomorrow. A dear friend is turning 75 and she's giving herself a dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant on the Upper West Side. We are excited about celebrating Jane's life.

Anthony has a dance rehearsal tomorrow before the dinner and then on Sunday also. I have few plans. It's supposed to rain all weekend. Quite a change from the beautiful weather yesterday. I will be getting a haircut tomorrow and except for the birthday dinner, I have nothing else planned.

I should try to start exercising again. I haven't done anything since last Saturday when I had the terrible muscle spasm. I still have a very little bit of soreness and I don't want to aggrivate anything. We shall see.

Tom and Antonia, I loved Drowsy Chaperone but I don't want to push it too much due to the overkill factor. A couple of friends who have seen it went with high expectations (based on my raves) and came away underwhelmed. Just take it for what it is and enjoy yourself.

I need more coffee and water. I slept so much over last weekend and Monday that I hardly drank any water. Anthony kept worrying about me becoming dehydrated. I have tried to make up for it at the office this week. I have a large container which I fill at least twice a day. I've been getting lots of water but also making many more trips to the men's room.

Good morning, all!  And a special hello to DR Ben!  Today, after a profitable day at home, I'm back to Toyland and - now - and for a while Cinderella.  After that, I've got a stop at the NYPL Theatre Collection before I come back.

Dear Friend BK, I told you in January to see MRS HENDERSON.  I knew you'd like it. The song "The Girl in the Little Green Hat" is addictive.  The actor who plays the young soldier is currently appearing in THE HISTORY BOYS on Broadway.

TOD:
DVD:  Inspectror Lynley, Broadway the Golden Age
CD:  Broadway Through the Gramophone 1844-1920 (8 discs!)
  VCR:  The usual suspects

I see THREEPENNY OPERA did poorly in the press today.  I wasn't surprised from the gossip.  It sounds as badly resuscitated as so many of the Roundabout's musicals.  I think the only one I really liked was 1776, which was almost as good as the original.

As the Curtain Falls....wasn't that a soap opera?

Who is at the Courts Show this weekend?  Maybe Carroll Baker will show up....as she does from time to time...and sit across the aisle from the other Harlow....Carol Lynley....

Media Check:

iPod:  The Rutles -- Beatles spoof with songs that are almost as catchy as the originals.
Liza With a Z -- This remastered recording sounds fantastic!

Tivo:  American Experience--The Great San Francisco Earthquake

DVD:  The Chronicles of Narnia

I liked MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS very much, also.  I think, in the right hands, that there is a dandy stage musical there.

I listened to a recording of the Roundabout's Threepenny Opera last week and I thought it was awful.

Good morning one and all and also all and one!

The over 400 firefighters (and we only have volunteer departments here on the Island of Long) did an excellent job.

There were no injuries, no private property damage and all of the fires were contained and out out.  There were intermitent power cuts and brown outs in my neighborhood so we didn't put on the computer, I should have called WFO and asked him to post that we were all right, but I am afraid I didn't think of it.

Once I was sure that home was safe and sound I had to get my btrother to come and bring me to Vixdad's car at the train station and bring that home (fortunately he travels out of the Wynadanch station rather than the Deer Park one  so we could retrieve his car. ) Then I had to drive to Babylon to collect Vixdad as the trains weren't running  on our branch.  They resumed later on but not until he waas already on his way home   on the other branch.

I thank you all for your vibes and concern!!

Friday morning greetings!  Just caught up on yesterday's posts - I sure missed a lot while away teaching artists not to starve and laughing with my book group.

Vibes of relief for DR Vixmom and her family.

Vibes of concern for DR Danise.

Vibes of good luck to DR TPunk on her job interview.

Feel better vibes to all DRs who have been under the weather lately.

TOD - Right now, I'm listening to streaming audio of Dayton Public Radio.  The on-air host attended my workshop yesterday, because she is a free-lance writer.

DVD - Cinderella Man - we're having our first family pizza-and-a-movie night since DS Rob moved back home to start his co-op job over a month ago.

Good morning!

It's overcast, but we haven't had any rain yet. It may be coming later this afternoon. The temps are supposed to be in the 70s all day and night, so a warm one for April.
