Well, you've read the notes, the notes were relaxed, and now it is time for you to post until the relaxed cows come home.

thank you dear Bruce!  I shall try to make merry on my natal day  :D
Despite promising myself NOT to do anything "Black Friday", I did do a bit of Hannukah shopping this evening for the twins.  After 1 hour in the mall I was fit for a white jacket and padded cell…... between copious humans and relentless Xmas music.

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving---- whether you celebrated big, small, or not traditionally at all!!

This is not the TOD.  Just a mention.  Vixdad and I have been watching a series in Netflix called River. It is an English cop show with an interesting twist.  Highly recommended by the two of us

The only times I ever made cookies myself were from that kind of package.  Can't remember if it was Pillsbury, possibly some other brand, but it's been years since that has even happened.

Sandy and I watched the first, possibly the 2nd, episode of MR. ROBOT, but then gave up on it.

Also gave up on THE BLACKLIST and GOTHAM after the first seasons, and we will probably give up on BLINDSPOT soon.

First off, I've never seen A.I., so I'll go along with Vixdad on BLADE RUNNER.  Another favorite would be ALIENS.  And how about that early Twilight Zone episode THE LONELY?  And a certain Kubrick film that takes place in outer space fifteen years ago?

Hey, I have the Blu-ray of EX MACHINA!  I guess it's been waiting for a rainy day.  Must check the weather forecast.

With few exceptions (e.g. FARGO), we don't really like "serial" stories on on TV shows.  Much prefer stories that are self-contained within 1-2 episodes (e.g. MAJOR CRIMES, LAW & ORDER:SVU, BLUE BLOODS, etc.)  The few "serial" shows we do like are limited series (e..g. 10 episodes per season) that begin a new storyline each season.

Because they were part of crossover shows with CHICAGO P.D. and LAW & ORDER:SVU, we started watching CHICAGO FIRE in its 3 or 4th season, and it was easy to catch up as to what was going on.

Yesterday I slaved outdoors -- cutting brush, blowing leaves and other debris from Point A to Point B, etc. etc. etc.  There are rains coming today, so, following the running of some post-Thanksgiving errands, I plan to enjoy the bulk of the day indoors and getting back to doing things I like to do.

Well, I'm up but must be going.  Today, we're going to see some holiday light display, but first I'll need to take a shower.  The problem is that my cousin's house only has one bathroom, so with five people here this weekend, who knows when it'll be my turn. ::)

I am home from Staples.  On my way there, I ran into my best friend, Matthew, who is one of my executors in my will.  He informed me that he and his partner are thin king of selling their Brooklyn co-op and relocating to San Francisco!

I may need a new executor, and the search is on.

HOLIDAY SPECIAL!

Here is  the perfect gift for the movie buff or anybody involved in theatre.

Through the holiday buying season, if you purchase BOTH of my play anthologies, THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS (10 plays) and THE HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS (3 plays) directly from me, I will give you a 25% discount off the retail price.

That's a savings of $10.00 if you bought the books individually or together from Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Your cost would be $30.00 + $5.00 shipping for both books within the USA.  This offer is good outside of the USA also, though the shipping cost MAY be adjusted, depending on where you live.  All books will be shipped directly from the publisher.

THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS contains one-person stage plays about Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Carole Lombard, Al Jolson, Errol Flynn, Clara Bow, Orson Welles, Maurice Chevalier, Basil Rathbone and a 2-person play about Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy.

THE HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS
includes 3 multiple-character plays: B MOVIE (the Franchot Tone/Barbara Payton/Tom Neal sex scandal), SEXY REXY (Rex Harrison and the women in his life, two of whom committed suicide)and LANA & JOHNNY WERE LOVERS (the Lana Turner/Johnny Stompanato affair).

Payment can be via PayPal (preferred), check or money order.

I just spent a few hours chasing some of my work colleagues around the county.

We purchased 7 new laptops, and a license for antivirus software to protect them. It is apparently too much for some people to click a link to download, install, and activate their software, so I had to go find them during one of their shifts and do it for them.

Jane, you asked me the other day whether Closys mouthwash helps with gum pockets. Yes, very much. Prior to discovering Closys I'd had a rather poor evaluation during my dental cleaning. I try to be very conscientious about this and don't know why my gums suddenly got worse. I'd been using Closys daily for two weeks before my next cleaning and Viola! No problems! I was most impressed! No problems since then, either. I still see the hygienist every six months, but all I need now is a light cleaning and scaling. I'm sold on the product. Most of the reviewers on Amazon feel the same way.

There weren't any emergency vehicles there yet, but other cars had stopped, so we didn't.  About a minute after we passed the accident, a police car raced toward the accident from the direction we were heading.  We just came home and now we're playing Phase 10.

Today I made a home made pot pie for the first time.  The recipe was for a regular sized pie so that's what I made.  It was good!  A little runny, but it was my first try.  I still have lots left and very few other turkey left overs.  I'm really glad because I'm getting very tired of turkey

We're expecting a big snow storm on Monday.  6-10 inches of snow predicted.  Some models make it closer to a foot.  Will be very anxious to see how much we get.

It all sounds good.  Pot pie, soup, stew, you name it.  I don't get tired of the leftovers that fast.  I'm good for about a week on that stuff.

I made myself a beautiful plate of leftovers tonight in the form of a hot open-faced turkey sandwich.  Much gravy was involved, along with some extra sage sausage that was left over from the stuffing recipe.  And I outdid myself on mashed potatoes -- I think the butter and heavy cream content just about equaled the spud content.  And the orange-assisted cranberry sauce is SO the perfect side to offset that richness.  I'm almost as stuffed now as I was after the main dinner.

Hey, I have the Blu-ray of EX MACHINA!  I guess it's been waiting for a rainy day.  Must check the weather forecast.

It rained!!!  And when it rains, it pours.  Right?  But that's another subject for another day.  This evening, following BK's reportage, I was totally ready for watching this, and I am here to tell you it's a beaut.  This is the kind of thing that renews one's faith in the business of film making -- because, like BK said, it is original, and so unyielding to everything "expected" in today's films.  Bravo to all!

Could you please give the other half to Cilla.

I am afraid it might leak through the envelope
Oh dear, imagine the security issues that could cause!

But the postage sorting equipment would smell delicious

Indeed it would!

Ok you have convinced me we are definitely having friends giving at Your house.  Please make the mashed taters and orange cranberry relish

For dinner with the parents, my sister made a cranberry sauce with caramelized onions.  I didn't have any, but my dad (who really only likes the regular jellied cranberry sauce in a can) liked this.  He did say is was a bit strong, but he did eat and enjoy it.

For Ambrosia?  pretty much equal parts canned mandarin orange, canned pineapple, mini marshmallows, coconut and sour cream.  Be sure to drain the fruit well or it gets runny.  I don't measure, just add stuff until it tastes good and looks right

Watching the end of Pather Panchali, which is due back at the library tomorrow. It's the first of the Apu Trilogy.

This is one of the most hard-hitting movies I've ever sat through. Forgot that I had seen way, way back been. Just a wonderful movie despite all the hardships this Indian family faces.

And Ravi Shankar's score is among the finest I've ever heard. Just brilliant.

My gums look good and I did not need much cleaning, and my gums don't bleed in spite of having pockets.  I credit the rubber gum tip I showed DR George.  I will look into the closys to reduce the pockets.

On the dinner alone, we made $1590,  but I have no idea what we made on the raffle and the silent auction.

It sounds like you had a good turnout.  Was your niece and her family there?

106 people ate dinner.

It sounds like a lot of people to me.  Were you pleased with the turnout?

Very much so.

It's only 10:43 pm on the left coast??  I feels like 12:30 am to me. :-\

Even though it was a fun day, it seemed long.

Are we boring you, George?   ;)

Not at all, Tom!  :-*

Well, I'm fading fast, so I'm going to sleep, also.

Good night, everyone. 8)
