Speaking of trees, I got the 1961 silver one assembled yesterday and I must say it's not looking bad for its age! We should all do so well.
But we needed a trial period to see how the cats were going to deal with it, and unfortunately, leaving it in its best place which is accessible to them just ain't going to happen because they need to be monitored and kept from nibbling at the "needles" -- which isn't good for them, or the tree. It's too bad, because they're all fine with real trees and pretty much leave them alone. But that silver stuff is just too great an attraction and we don't want little kitty intestines messed up now, do we? No we don't. So the silver tree goes to the basement. There's a space where it can be enjoyed just fine, and where the cats will only be admitted when under supervision. And a nice natural tree from the tree farm will grace the upstairs.
More than you ever wanted to know about the silver tree. Right? And why didn't I use this to get us to page eighteen?
