I wasn't afraid of anything in the house, merely the chores attached to them.

Nurse couldn't draw blood from one arm. Now both have been stuck. Ugh.

Oh, I hate that.  I used to be easy to draw blood from but that has changed over the past few years.  Sometimes they take it from the top of my hand.

TOD:
Okay, this wasn't something in the house, but it was a very common thing that frightened no one but me. I was afraid of those industrial strength commercial toilets in public bathrooms. They were just too loud and powerful for me when I was about five years old. I thought they were going to suck me in and wash me out to sea.

Sometimes they take it from the top of my hand.

I have to do this every month, and we have found that this is the best location for me. It usually works!        :P

The South is different, folks. Oh yes, the South is different.

I mean, where else would they sell BBQ ribs teething tools for tots? Or should I say Baby-Q?      :)

I am home from seeing my ophthalmologist and i have an appointment for next March.

The trips there and back went quite well.  On my way home, when I got to the bus stop on Sixth Avenue and 23rd, the driver on the No 7 saw me coming and waited for me.  he was one of the nicest drivers when I was taking the bus from Toyland over the past seven years, and it was nice to see him.

Monday morning greetings!  This must be the day for medical appointments.  I've just come from a routine check with our primary care physician - my last before becoming a Medicare case tomorrow.  All is well.

And if that doesn't appeal, there's this:

A pumpkin/chocolate chip/toffee muffin.

That's not for the teething infant. That's for the Mom and Dad.       :)

One of Broadway's Worst Asses

That could be the title of the autobiography of several people....in one way or another.

I can name four Broadway conductors who are complete asses and other scumbags. I've been lucky, too, to have worked with at least three of the best.

Rob just carried several plastic tubs of Christmas decorations up from the basement for me.  That should keep me busy for a few days...

But first - Lunch!

I'm up, I'm up - barely - I think I got about eight and a half hours of sleep - hope the helper gets here right on time because I may just go back to bed.

It'll probably be a couple of weeks before we have the tree ready, DR JRand.  Remember, in our household it all has to stay up until Epiphany (January 6), so we're not in that much of a hurry.

Speaking of trees, I got the 1961 silver one assembled yesterday and I must say it's not looking bad for its age!  We should all do so well.

But we needed a trial period to see how the cats were going to deal with it, and unfortunately, leaving it in its best place which is accessible to them just ain't going to happen because they need to be monitored and kept from nibbling at the "needles" -- which isn't good for them, or the tree.  It's too bad, because they're all fine with real trees and pretty much leave them alone.  But that silver stuff is just too great an attraction and we don't want little kitty intestines messed up now, do we?  No we don't.  So the silver tree goes to the basement.  There's a space where it can be enjoyed just fine, and where the cats will only be admitted when under supervision.  And a nice natural tree from the tree farm will grace the upstairs.

More than you ever wanted to know about the silver tree.  Right?  And why didn't I use this to get us to page eighteen?
