With all the work I've been doing, i can afford to take it easy work wise the next couple weeks, before all hell breaks loose and the courts are open again. so I'm going to do work around the house, paint the gazebo and do projects I've been putting off for a long time.

I got so far behind at work between my sister dying and then my dad dying 105 days later.  I'm very sorry this virus is the reason I got to stay home and get caught up, but it's a huge relief.   I did get a couple new cases that are serious and have several others that are also serious, but there aren't any pending deadlines hanging over my head

Most of Iowa is open for business now.  It's limited, but I was able to stop and say hey to my friend Clyde the barber today and the salon in our building.  They were all grinning from ear to ear to be able to work again. Clyde opened for a couple days, then he's closing to get Covid-19 certified.  They have classes that barbers and hair stylists can take to learn exactly how to keep themselves and their clients safe

Yesterday I started coming out of my grief funk.  Today was even better.  I think all the diet coke helped

Pizza Ranch had a special for a small pizza for $6.  I ordered a Tuscan pizza really a Margharita pizza, but they don't use that name.  Thin crust, tomatoes and basil and cheese. I think it has an alfredo sauce too

I am so looking forward to the next week.  As I told my brother, I'm going to do the college student attitude, a little work here and there and the rest of the time do whatever I want to.  Sort of a modified vacation.  I have a couple clients in jail freaking out about the virus, so I really can't just say "Oh wait another week or two".  I'll do what I can to get them out

Jane,
It wasn't just a particular vet at the place I didn't like.  It was the way they treated Callie, didn't listen to me about what would freak her out and the general attitude.  I think they were a little rough with her. it wasn't long after that we discovered the bones in her pelvis had compressed even more and she wasn't going to be able to make it.  While it may not have been their fault, I've always felt that if they had listened to me about how to handle her and not been like they were, she may have lived longer.  I may not be right about that but it's not something I can shake and I need to go visit the first vet I had and see if they will take me back.

I had problems with their care too, but they do a lot of work in saving animals that are rescued and I've started to think that what I thought was using the wrong enema, may have been the only thing they could do to try to keep her alive.  It worked.  She lived another 12 years after that.

So, Vixmom, you want to change your name. Would a whole witness relocation program be of any help?

Where do I sign up?

The power was off for about 10 minutes as a huge thunderstorm has rolled in. It’s back, thank goodness.

Apparently everyone he spoke to in the office asked him if he was going to quarantine himself before coming in

He has announced he will quarantine himself in his office, it has a private entrance and its own bathroom.

So we’ll see how that goes.  I wear gloves in the office and a mask when I leave my cubicle

Yikes, Vixmom, it’s raining horse crap in your life lately. I hope you get a physical and mental rest soon.

Finished with my viewing - two movies - and then took a nice thirty-minute drive.  Gas prices are going UP - thank you to our Governor, who is sooooo busy dictating what people can and cannot do, but doing nothing at ALL to help those people, like dictating to the damn oil companies to knock it off, or take his stupid tax away.  There is no excuse for California to have the highest gas prices by more than double of anywhere.  Then perhaps some help for all the small businesses be fore they all go under - many have closed for good and can never come back.

Re: CONSISTENCY
« Reply #116 on: May 15, 2020, 10:23:24 PM »

We've had a very nice day, as quarantine days go.  We started watching Yentl while we were having lunch, then took a break for Richard to work on Sunday's sermon and for me to bake cookies, then finished the movie.  For my baking I used the 47-year-old hand mixer that my mother got with trading stamps for my first apartment and decided,  "Enough!"

So, I sat down and ordered a spiffy Kitchen Aid stand mixer from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  It's something I've wanted for a long, long time and it should be here in a week.

Wow, I can't believe the hand mixer still works.
