Tonight, I turned to the Hallmark Channel to watch MURDE SHE WROTE. This was episode 7 from the first season.

It was filmed in Seattle.

In the opening scene under the credits, this obviously rich and obviously very drunk woman returns to her home while there is a robbery in progress. The unknown robber comes up behind her, she turns around and smiles when she sees him, and he then strangles her to death with the pearls she is wearing.

Yes , she was a guest lecturer at the University of Seattle.

The woman who was killed in the opening was played by an actress from Tacoma who was a big name at Tacoma Little Theatre back in the late 50’s and early 60’s. She and I were also on the Board of Director’s together back in the mid-Seventies.
