I'm up, I'm up - barely. Set the alarm last night, didn't go off so was awakened by knocking. This iPad has had it, I think. Just done as done can be. It's given good service - second generation, so that's how old - just looked it up - April 2012. Eight years for an Apple product is pretty good.

One potential guest isn't happening - oh, well. I think it might have happened if she hadn't gotten some kind of TV hosting thing that starts next week, but she's weird and it's fine. The one I really want is still neither yay or nay - we're hoping yay but it may be a last-minute thing. And the recently-set guest is already nervous about doing her number because she's who she is and that's what she does. But I had this problem with one person in the last show and we got her through it fine. I try to explain that this is what the foreseeable future is and everyone better get used to it. We'll see - I have back-up plans should she drop, but the track is done and I would not be happy.

Goddaughter Charlotte and I saw this in the theatre at Lincoln Center when it was first released. It's a lot of fun but I still prefer the brilliant 1971(2?) Public Theatre version with Sam Waterston and Kathleen Widdoes.

Do you know if it was filmed and is available on video?

I walked in, stood on the taped”x” an arm’s each from the counter , placed my license on the counter , the masked assistant used some handheld scanner thing to scan it where it lay then directed me to take it back.

I was greeted immediately and directed to a dressing room where there was a very nice reusable shopping bag and a cotton gown in a sealed plastic bag
