Until it's not.

No, thank you.

Picked up a couple of packages, went to Gelson's and got burgers and buns for food, came home, made two burgers and ate them and they were really good, and am now listening to another excellent Mascagni opera called Iris. It's amazing that everyone thinks of this guy as a one-opera composer.

Before Craig could get vaccinated through the program set up for teachers in his district, they cancelled it due to lack of vaccines.  :(

DR Matthew I hope you find someplace to get vaccinated.  I believe teachers should be vaccinated if they are back in the classroom.

Yesterday I saw my osteopath, who is also my PCP. I booked it a month or two ago as a routine appointment, but I woke up last Monday morning with hives. I've been treating them homeopathically with very good success, but was still pleased to see the doctor in case I'd missed something. No, he confirmed that they were hives and approved of what I was doing. He said they can take as long as two weeks to go away. God, I hope not! They're itchy and most annoying! Given the progress I've made so far, I don't expect it to be that long.

Jane, regarding the unmasked taxi driver, I as told when I scheduled the ride that the driver would be wearing a mask. I was also told that I could request that he disinfect the vehicle. I requested, but had my doubts that this would take place. One of the most annoying aspects was that this was purportedly a medical transportation company, and those words were in the company name. In reality, all they do is contract with a local taxi firm. There is nothing medical about it. It galls me how they deliberately mislead people.

It's difficult to complain because my medical transportation benefit, which pays for it, is so mired in bureaucracy. I do know that United Healthcare has changed to a different agency to arrange transportation. I haven't used them yet, but truly hope that they do more than read from a script.

Perhaps someone needs to design a capsule to keep you safe while using public transportation.

Seriously, lots of new studies have been conducted because of Covid. If we have to go through something like this again we will be better prepared.

I am sorry, DR Jeanne.

Thanks, Sing. Given all that is going on I'll gladly take the hives. But I'll also try to get rid of them ASAP. I'm very glad I could see my doctor so soon.

We just discovered fresh water on out bathroom floor.  So, another maintenance report filed with building management.

I'm tempted to try DR elmore3003's friend's tactic: threaten to take a water sample to the Department of Health.

A question for DRs at large:

What do you feel comfortable with these days?
Indoor dining in a restaurant?
Outdoor dining at a restaurant?
Public transportation?
Crowded spaces? (theatre, concerts, etc)
Having cleaning help, plumbers, etc?
In cars with others?

We are not comfortable leaving our apartment, frankly. We both have comorbidities, that, should we contract the virus, we would likely not fare very well.

I hope not.  I go batty when I have a rash, etc.  Best to confirm it isn't a symptom of covid as some rashes are.

This is just very wrong.  Good luck with the new agency.

DR Chas maybe you should take a water sample considering you have too much of it.

So sorry this problem continues. I don't know that you need a sample. Just a statement of how many times it's happened and is not yet corrected might be enough. But if you pull in the Health Dept it could become uncomfortable to remain there as tenants.

We have not done any of these.  Plumbers, etc fortunately have not been needed.  We do go to a market at least once a week.  Do I feel comfortable, no but we wear our KF94 masks & most people wear masks.

And then you have to have people in to inspect the leaks  :-\

Thursday afternoon greetings!  We picked up groceries and a prescription at Kroger early this afternoon and I've been puttering at my desk for a while.

I'm very upset with Kroger over the way they're treating their employees. I'm glad they're not in San Antonio. I would have to boycott them.

None of the above. I made an eye-doctor's appointment today. I know they will have to do something involving touching my eyes (I refuse to do the air gun) and I am already dreading having to go.

Saw a page for a Valentine's Day contest today. The main prize was travel, which, well, who in their right mind would want to win right now?

But the kicker was the tagline that said it was for you and "a loved one worth up to $5,000."

I don't know, if I would think my one true love would be worth much more than that.

After all, who can put a price on love?

OK, those people walking around that corner downtown, maybe. And it probably doesn't cost $5,000. But is it true?

As that wise man, Cole Porter, once wrote, old love, new love, any love but true love.
