Then I met some team mates for happy hour. Hadn't met one in person, so that was fun. Or should I say happy?

DR Vixmom, I’m sending Vixdad my strongest get well vibes!  Severe sprains are no fun and can sometimes be worse that a break - they know how to fix those…

She's made the decision.

That makes it so much easier!  Richard and I were lucky enough that both mothers made their own similar decisions.  Hope it all goes smoothly, DR John G.

I need to find a new book to listen to. I started The Man Who Lived Under Ground, a Richard Wright novel. it isn't long, but the story is so upsetting that I may not finish.

I doubt the latest episode of Cher will be all that fun. The guest stars are Art Garfunkel, Charo and McLean Stevenson. Oh, joy.

So, last night Charlotte had been in bed a couple of hours and the grown-ups were about to go to sleep when all the cell phones screamed and the city emergency sirens began wailing.  Rob knocked on our door and said, “Tornado warning, basement - NOW!”  We spent about 45 minutes sheltering while a tornado did, indeed, touch down about 15 miles to the south.  Fortunately, everyone (including Charlotte) was able to settle back down and get a good night’s sleep.

Oh my.  I am glad the tornado didn't touch down at their house.

If it had, I suspect we wouldn’t have come home today.

The first active NFL player has come out of the closet, a player named Carl Nassib from the Las Vegas Raiders. So, another barrier broken.

Ginny, that was a scary tornado story. Glad you're OK and that you have a basement you can get into. We don't have basements in Texas, except at the Alamo (a Pee-Wee Herman reference).

Yes, and Mary Linda and I were grateful to be with a priest and a paramedic.

Good Morning.  Home from Orlando.  Glad to be home with my boys- they seemed happy to see me.  Today begins a short 2 week summer class on iMovie at school which will be fun.  Other than that, we'll see how the summer goes.  I have a trip planned in August for Disneyland, but that's about it.  We'll see if we can get some of these self-imposed projects off the ground at home, or maybe just chill for the summer - and hopefully many bike rides, of course.  In the meantime... here we are.

Sounds good. Please tell us about the WDW experience, insofar as masks and distancing and other considerations are concerned. Also, do you stay in the "World" or outside?

When I got there, mask were required in queues, on attractions, in buildings and on transportation.  A few days later (June 15) masks were only required on transportation.  They basically have been dropping distancing regulations etc.  They encouraged non-vaccinated people to continue to wear their masks, etc.  I never felt weird or un-safe, then again, my trust in people is higher than most.  There are still very few live shows - although they are slowly coming back - and park hours are reduced as there are no fireworks at the moment - they will return on July 1.  I stayed on Disney property at the Pop Century Resort, I always seem to end up there, and it was fine.  They are not packing people on Disney busses, which is nice and I hope it stays that way.  There are still some plexiglass dividers in queues and on attractions, but those are slowly going away.  My hope is that everyone remembers to always social distance!!!

Cher sang Jimmy Webb songs with Art Garfunkel while Webb played piano. That was nice. Then she sang America with Charo. Not so good.

The pesky fly, which somehow found its way into our apartment a day or so ago, has finally met its end. It was a challenge, as somewhere along the way we lost our fly swatter.

I never had an actual fly swatter.  I just used and empty paper towel roll.  It's certainly not perfect, but it works for me. ;D

Went and cleaned out my desk today. First time at the office in 15 months or so.

Today was the first day that people with proof of vaccination could work without masks.  More people went without them (and not by a lot), but most people pretty much distanced, anyway, so I think most people are just glad that it's not a requirement, anymore.
