I love everything Liz. I think her recording of The Story Goes On on this album surpasses her performance on the OBC.

I've only been to Atlantic City once, a couple of years after the movie was made. It was just a quick drive around the area, with only a couple of stops:  I walked into one of the then-new casinos just to have a look around and see what it felt like since I'd only ever been in Vegas ones. And before driving back out of town, I stopped and ate in one of the "castle" type of jernts -- one of the White Castle imitations -- oh, that's what it was -- White Tower. I think.

It was just a day trip while I was on a longer visit in the Philadelphia area. I was still living in Redondo Beach, and I have no memory of where I first saw the movie. But I distinctly remember a few years later dropping in to see it at the theater in the Pan Pacific building which was playing second-runs in its last era before the fire.

I've always meant to go back to Atlantic City and take in other interesting old parts (those that remain) of the Jersey Shore, but I never seem to get around to it. It's actually been a goal since childhood to go into the convention center building, whatever they call it now, to see and hear that world famous pipe organ. They've been restoring and taking good care of that, and I really must do it.

DR ChasSmith, Annabelle is very happy with the photos, and we've had to look at them several times while she chose her Instagram shots. Thatch is still in shock you caught him licking his butt, so I've promised him I will never post it, but the next time he was bad, I would.

Here's some old man (it says so right there on the shirt!) with his and DR Laura's close personal friend Michael Gildin.

I love this photo. Everyone can see my new vehicle.

It's a scientific fact that some cats, as soon as they see you aiming a camera in their general direction, immediately begin licking their butts.

And finally, with Yrs Truly...

It was indeed a great visit, and it was such fun to have luinch with DR ChasSmith and Michael.  The walk back is an uphill onem and I thought we would never reach the apartment and live. That block walk took so long yjay DR ChasSmith had walked to the garage, picked up his car, and reached my apartment the same time Michael and I walked there.

I'm halfway through the podcast, and it's excellent. The woman who does the interviewing is perfect at being prepared with the questions and then letting the interviewee tell the story. So, what you get -- at least so far -- I mean, who knows, maybe the second half will go to HELL :) -- is a very listenable summary of personal and professional history and all manner of things right from the mouth of BK. And this dismal-weather day at home is an ideal background for listening to a lengthy podcast. Just perfect.

That is a very exciting project that I've been following closely.

The last tour I took was about 10 years ago, when the project was just getting off the ground. The organ is VERY LOUD, and at that time was very OUT OF TUNE.     :)

But it's magnificent.

Yesterday DR JohnG asked if my dining out experience was a good one.

It was quite good. Although I was not expecting the place to be so full. The restaurants have only been open here indoors for like a month (since October). So I was expecting that it would be 50 or 70% capacity.  They did have plastic between each booth. And the waiters were wearing masks. But the distance across the aisle to the next table was closer than I would have preferred. But the person's back was to me. And I was able to sit in the middle of my booth.

It sounds like a good experience.  I found it takes a bit of getting used to.  I like the dividers between the booths for privacy as well as avoiding covid.

Thanks. Masks are almost nowhere to be seen here nowadays.

With the Delta variant on the rise I am trying to be better about wearing my mask.  The gym is still too hot.

DR George we got you a little keychain at Glacier National Park.  I found it in my travel bag when we went to the coast last weekend.  It will have to wait now until we return from our upcoming road trip.

Mine, however, are not nicely displayed.  They're mostly in bags and boxes, and I have a few here at work, although my department is moving to the other side of the building, so who knows what personal stuff I'll be able to keep here. :-\

Kinda like my Fiesta medals. I don’t know what to do with them. I thought of hanging them on a wreath, but what would I do with the wreath? I really don’t have spare wall space.
