I'm failing a lot lately.

What happened?

One of my cherpumple layers fell apart in my hands.

Yesterday I recorded the making of the Cherpumple layers and was planning on recording the construction today. I was going to do it while the people were in church, before the kids were sent to the nursery. I hadn't counted on someone making their soup in the kitchen during the church service. So I didn't get to record it.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  I slept until after 9am, which is very late for me.  When Richard got up, we had a nice Dutch baby and bacon breakfast.  I'm now showered and dressed, puttering in my Momcave with the Bengals game on in the background.

You had a "Dutch baby and bacon breakfast"?  I'm sure that's more innocent that it seems on face value?

 :D

A Dutch baby is an eggy popover-type pancake that you bake in a cast iron skillet.  It was delicious.

I want a Dutch baby.

Listening to Donald's show. I realize I only have one CD in his top 15. Odd year of recordings to match an odd year.

You have me beat...I don't have any of them. :-\

I thought you had Cinderella.

Yes, I know it was weird. But I was inspired to record it after DR Matthew recorded the construction of the piecaken.

I checked James Ivory's Heat and Dust out of the library because I haven't seen it in maybe 25 years. Surprised to find that there's a second film with it, Ivory's Autobiography of a Princess, with James Mason and Madhur Jaffrey. Will watch that first.

DR TCB do you have power?  How hard is the wind blowing?

Yes, we do.  The power wouldn’t dare go out during the Seahawks game.  So far, it doesn’t look too windy.

DR Ginny the descriptions for the two are a bit different (see below).  I think an apple filling on the Dutch Baby would be good.

"The Dutch Baby, an air filled delight oven baked to golden perfection and served with lemon, whipped butter and powdered sugar to create a mouthwatering blend.

the Apple Pancake, a single large pancake smothered with sautéed apples and cinnamon sugar baked to perfection, to create a deliciously rich cinnamon sugar glaze."

Either sounds great!

They are.  The older me finds the Apple Pancake a bit too much.  I doubt a Dutch Baby would need this much filling.

Did a LOT of futzing and finessing - still feeling my way, as is always the case with a new book. Then wrote two new pages. Now I'll mosey on over to the mail place, then figure out food, then come home and write at least ten more pages if not more.

I would prefer the second one without the sautéed apples, or the pancake.
