I am glad MR BK had good food today.

I am still trying to decide what I want to eat.

We have done more cleaning and sorting today.  I didn't accopmplish all that much but any progress is good. Emotionally it is easier for me to let go a little at a time.

On Friday, as I was getting ready to head out, an older gentleman parked in front of the house and came up to me. It turns out he grew up in this house; his family was the first owners. So I showed him the back yard and the inside of the house, but drew the line at taking photos inside. He remembered the bathroom colors where we've kept the original 1950s tile, and accurately described where some additions had been made by his family and the previous owners.

He got lucky to catch me just as I was heading out. I reviewed some of our house history materials and his name does indeed match the people who owned it in the early 1960s. (He really didn't seem like someone who was casing the joint for mischief later.)

When I get back to Detroit I do go and check out the house I grew up in, but I've never checked to see if anybody was there, or asked to go in the backyard or inside. But if they were hanging around outside at the time, maybe I would. I imagine he would have made do with just seeing the front exterior if I hadn't have been there.

That's nice you were able to give him a tour.

Still, it was good to be able to confirm who is was.

In high school my sister was showing me which house we had lived in before we moved. The owner pulled up into the driveway and ended up giving us a tour.  Since I turned four in the new house, the one I was still living in, they were surprised how much of that house I remembered and where all the rooms room.  I even told my sister where my crib was in the bedroom I shared with her and my brother.

Wow, you have some memory! I've checked out the exterior of the house we lived until I was 4, but I remember very little about it except the living room (aided by photos) and the see-saw in the back yard. The day we moved is the first day where I have memories that don't come from photos or home movies.

Very nice DR MICHAELG.

Five of my former abodes are still intact....two have been demolished for one reason or another.

Now and then if one is for rent or for sale I check out the listings and photos online.  it is very interesting. And three of them I drive by here in town every few days.

I always said I only had one memory of my grandfather.  Once I realized I was two when he died I figured having one memory was rather good.  I'm guessing thay is my oldest memory.

The apartment building we live is 5 floors. I always lock the door after I enter, but sometimes the DH does not. And we have had people walk in, living either in the apartment above or below ours and just weren't on the right floor.

This one is about the Fitzgeralds and the writing of The Great Gatsby.

Some of the anecdotes are good, but the structure is scattershot.

Okay, so What’s So Bad has suddenly become prescient about a pandemic. Everyone is wearing masks or willfully getting the virus.
