Back to Henry & June. I don’t think the performances are quite right. Fred Ward is too nice for Henry Miller. Mickey Rourke might have been a better choice.

I liked the extended edition of That Thing You Do!

The characters are more filled in....and the relationships are more defined.

There is indeed a scene that lets us know the Tom Hanks' character does indeed have a boyfriend (football player Howie Long) who stops by the hotel to pick Tom up for a party.....Tom Everett Scott's character arrives back at the hotel drunk and Tom makes Howie wait while he takes care of TES - Guy.

Howie suggests that they just take him along an idea that Hanks nixes with a look and a smile.

I dreamt the other night I had to convince people to try a sweet pie made with squash. Today I found a recipe for squash pie. Totally strange.

I have placed a reservation on it.

Thirty minutes ago, YouTube went completely down, functioning-wise. You can go there but no videos load and nothing works. No statement yet from anyone. Affecting everyone.

That’s why the dream was strange and finding a recipe for it even stranger.

When Laszlo Krasznahorkai (thank you, copy and paste) won the Nobel for literature, all of his books were checked out of the library. But his films weren’t. I had seen the Werckmeister Harmonies, which I loved. So I got something called The Man from London. Turns out it was based on a Georges Simenon novel.

I’ll watch it later. I’m now starting Bright Leaf, a Michael Curtiz western with Gary Cooper, Lauren Bacall and Patricia Neal.

Grandma duty was taking the young'un to school. Mama had an early morning job interview.

Then I took my new hiking boots for a hike on the mountain. I haven't been there in a long time, since it was so brown and sad all summer with no rain.
