There have been two more that just came in - one pan, one middling but that liked certain aspects of the show. Just search the show title and "Group Rep reviews - they'll all come up. I don't think any others will come because for some reason a lot of their always positive reviewers aren't coming to this. Bottom line is very few actually read these reviews and they have no impact on sales. The all-important thing is word of mouth. Normally, weeks one and two are light at Group Rep, but we had a pretty good week one, and a much better than usual week two so far and hopefully there will be walk-ups and more reservations on the day of.

When I first tried to read Catch-22, I read the first chapter and thought, Ugh, this is dreadful!

A couple of years later, I tried again. I read the first chapter and thought, Death and dying? I pass.

The third time, I read the first chapter and laugh like mad; it's now one of my all-time favorite novels, although when Snowden's horrific death was finally laid out, I wept and wailed like a banshee. No matter how funny things might be, I guess a lot of people don't want to be enteretained by material concerning mortality.

DR FREDDIE thanks....of course Doris didn't receive one until PILLOW TALK....her only Best Actress Nomination....even after LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME and THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH.

She should have.  For me, she was always the main focus in PILLOW TALK.

Rock was also under contract to U-I and I'm sure his agent Henry Willson had a lot to do with Rock's billing.

And Rock's contract for Pillow Talk (produced in part by Arwin - Doris' company with her husband Marty Melcher) specified that he would only do the role IF Nick Adams was also in the cast. Inquiring minds can figure that out......

Interesting.

And of course Marty had been married to Patty Andrews one of the Andrews Sisters group.

And Doris' ex manager said the Marty was in love with Patty's money until Doris' money came along - and because there was more of it he loved it more.

Doris' mother once called the manager and was scared because Doris & Marty were out on a date and Patty was on the front porch with a baseball bat waiting for them to get home.......LOL....I think the Patty Andrews Bat would have outsold the Louisville Slugger!

I've been up since six after four hours of sleep. Too much ABS (Active Brain Syndrome) - not just the new book, but liner notes for four upcoming CD releases.

FOUR new releases??  Very cool! :D

In a little while, Shelly and I are going to Seattle to see the pianist Leif Ove Andsnes in concert with my friend David, who got free tickets!

https://meanycenter.org/tickets/2026-01/production/leif-ove-andsnes

With his commanding technique and searching interpretations, the celebrated Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes has won worldwide acclaim, performing in the world’s leading concert halls and with its foremost orchestras while building an esteemed and extensive discography. He brings his “magisterial elegance, power and insight” (The New York Times) to an eclectic program featuring works by Robert Schumann, Leoš Janáček and György Kurtág.

Anthony Rapp is 54 years old.  The FOLLIES script says Phyllis is 48, IIRC.  So a 54 year old playing Ben sounds logical.

I understand that he's now old enough, but I meant where is the show happening?  Is it a regional production?
