THE WANING DAYS OF OCTOBER

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, October is in its waning days. In fact, as Elmer Fudd would say, it’s been waning cats and dogs. We don’t allow groaning here at haineshisway.com. In any case, October is waning and soon November will be upon us. I’ve gotten an update from Mr. Mark Bakalor, who is going to try to have the Writer’s Block site up as soon as possible, although he is telling me it could be as late as mid-November. I’ve asked him to please try to have it up and running sooner than that, as I’ll actually have the books before then. I will keep you posted on his progress, but keep your digits crossed for sooner than later. I’m supposed to have my test books any day (maybe even this very day) and I can’t wait to see them. I’m chomping at the bit, frankly, which is not something human’s should ever do. Today I am meeting with a marketing person about Writer’s Block – I’m hoping we hit it off and that she’ll “work” the book, that is, get it in the mystery bookstores and arrange some signings outside of LA. In other news, I am now half-way through the script I’ve been rewriting, and I hope to be two-thirds of the way through by Sunday or, at the very latest, mid-week. In other news, I am now through with this paragraph which, frankly, is waning like the waning days of October.

No new movies to report on – I’m currently watching a region 2 DVD of Curse of the Cat People – decent quality and quite an interesting little film. Today I must try to find Broadway – The American Musical on DVD. I looked for it late last week and could find it nowhere. Otherwise, I’ll order it from amazon.com.

It waned quite a bit yesterday – it started up at about three o’clock and was relentless until midnight. Then it abated somewhat. I do hope it doesn’t wane tomorrow so that Mr. Pool Man can come and clean the pool (he didn’t come last week because it was waning). As much as I love the wane, I’m about done with it for awhile. Wane, wane, go away, come again some other day.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because this whole section is waning like the waning days of October.

Have I mentioned that these are the waning days of October? Yes, Virginia, soon we will be in a brand spanking new month, November to be specific. November, a time of turkey and Thanksgiving. But, before we get to turkey and Thanksgiving, first we must prepare for our annual haineshisway.com Halloween fest. I hope you’re all getting your costumes in order, for we will have a sparkling prize for the best hainsie/kimlet Halloween costume. So, get your cameras and costumes ready for our Halloween bash will be one to beat the band. I wonder if Jrand will go as Allison Hayes?

For anyone who loves Astrud Gilberto as I do, she sells signed CDs regularly on eBay and at pretty decent prices. Just search “Astrud Gilberto” and you’ll find them. I really recommend The Shadow of Your Smile, one of her best (and they’ve got the superb Japanese mini-LP CD that looks just like the LP and has been remastered brilliantly.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must meet with Marcy, the Marketing Person, I must write, I must do errands and I must attend to things that need attending to. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to provide any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely postings, shall we?
