THE NEW YEAR COMETH

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, now that Christmas is over, the New Year cometh. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, the New Year cometh, just like the iceman. Of course, the place to be on New Year’s Eve is right here at haineshisway.com, the safest and rockinest New Year’s bash anywhere. It has become quite a tradition, our little New Year’s Rockin’ Eve bash, and I hope that all hainsies/kimlets will be here to bring in the New Year in high fashion (spike heels, pedal-pushers, a Maidenform brassiere, and a cashmere sweater). What fun we shall have – we shall laugh, and drink plenty of Diet Coke, and we shall have cheese slices and ham chunks and we shall sing amusing songs, and dance to the music of the Ocarina. In short, we will be stylin’ here at haineshisway.com. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Yesterday I had a restfully restful day, doing restful things like, for example, resting. I ate cake, I ate See’s candy, I ate chicken tenders, and I ate a bagel. Very dietetic, if you ask me. I also paid a visit to various and sundried stores, and I bought myself a brand spanking new digital camera, which I won’t get until Thursday, since they had to have it sent over from another store. I spent quite a bit of time also looking at digital video cameras, which seem to me to be amazingly cheap – a very nice JVC can be had for a mere $250.00 US. I also looked at the new DLP TVs from Mitsubishi. I think they look very nice, although Good Guys isn’t doing themselves any favors with the lighting in their store. Other than that, I just lounged about in my lounging pyjamas and my smoking jacket and my spotted dickie, oh, yes, my spotted dickie.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because soon my very own actual darling daughter will be visiting my home environment.

My spotted dickie is lovely, by the way (BTW, in Internet lingo). Perhaps I’ll post a photo of it one of these fine days. Have I mentioned that the New Year cometh, like the iceman? Have I mentioned that my darling daughter will be here, and that we shall exchange giftees and perhaps even share some luncheon?

Tonight I shall be going to supper at the Jones’s, where we shall also exhange giftees and partake of ham and other exciting foodstuffs. My friend Margaret is a most excellent cook and dinners are always delightful, as is the company of Margaret and her ever-lovin’ Richard. Perhaps I’ll wear my spotted dickie.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must see the darling daughter, I must do errands and drive about in my motor car, I must make some notes, and then I must sup. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your ten favorite movies of 2004, along with your favorite performances? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst we begin to anticipate the New Year, which is comething very soon.
