I’VE SAID IT AND I’M GLAD

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I’m quite bored of writing what day it is or how the week has flown by, but, because I’m at a loss as to what else to write, it’s Thursday and boy the week is flying by. There, I’ve said it and I’m glad. Mr. Guy Haines’ allergies got pretty severe last night, and so I think it is certain that he will be visiting his ear, nose, and throat man to get cleaned out before all that stuff starts playing havoc with his voice. I really hate allergy season – mine have been acting up, too, and acting up badly. Away, I say. I say away. Say away I. Away say I. There, I’ve said it and I’m glad. Aside from the wretched allergies, I had quite a nice day yesterday. I finished my second short story, although I have to go back through it and do some additions. I printed out all the lyrics for the Guy Haines album so that Guy will have lyric sheets with very big type, which makes it easier for him to sing. I lunched with our very own Miss Juliana A. Hansen, and we spent a few hours catching up. I heard all about her New York sojourn. I was also invited to an actual Passover gathering on Passover, which is the best time to be invited to a Passover gathering. It was a complete surprise to me, as I’ve never met the people who invited me. They are friends of Mr. Walter Willison and they’ve been reading and loving the Kritzer books, so they thought it would be fun to have me there so I can say, “What is it, fish?” This couple both come from Los Angeles, California, USA and they both grew up in my old neighborhood, so they’ve been getting a kick out of the books. In fact, they live just a few blocks from the house Benjamin moved to in the sixties, and they live only about five houses away from where the real-life Samantha Gilman lived. I suppose I will be the odd man out, but I shall endeavor to have fun. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Last night I watched a motion picture on DVD entitled For a Few Dollars More. For a Few Dollars More is my favorite of the Leone/Eastwood westerns. Leone really found his voice in this film, and Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef are great together. Once again, Gian Maria Volente makes a memorable villain. The score by Ennio Morricone is one of his greats, and the camerawork and set design are really top-notch. The transfer is pretty great, although like Fistful of Dollars, there are some shots that are simply softer than they should be. These films were incredibly detailed and sharp when projected in theaters, so I never quite understand why there wouldn’t even be more detail when sizing it down for home video. Maybe it has something to do with the compression or the fact that it’s just standard definition rather than hi-def.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I’ve got stories to write, people to see, places to go, and things to do. There, I’ve said it and I’m glad.

Today I shall be boxing up all my photos, DVDs, and books for the Ray Courts show. I’ll be picking up the additional Laverne and Shirley photo from the copy place. Then I must go to the home environment of Mr. Grant Geissman to get a CD of the final four tracks so that Mr. Haines can rehearse them.

I have been told to stop sucking down the Ricolas because they are actually harmful if you suck too many of them. I ask you, where else on all the Internet can you find such a sentence? Nowhere, that’s where. Too many Ricolas leave deposits on your lungs or something. So, I’ve stopped sucking down the Ricolas and I do feel a bit better for it.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must write, I must pick up photos, I must visit Mr. Grant Geissman, I must book our singers, I must do errands, and I must try not to have allergies. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s wrong casting day here at haineshiway.com. Let’s have our most wrong all-star revival cast of the haineshisway.com production of Hair. I know you won’t let me down. For those who want to let down their Hair, then another topic is what is the oddest delicacy you’ve ever eaten and what is the oddest dessert you’ve ever eaten? Please describe in detail. Let’s have loads of lovely posts, shall we? There, I’ve said it and I’m glad.
