THE DAY THAT WAS A BLUR

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, yesterday was a blur.  Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, yesterday was a blur (rulb, spelled backwards).  Things happened, I’m sure, but I really don’t think I remember much of anything, which, of course, means that yesterday was a blur.  I was up at seven-thirty – that was a blur.  I fell back asleep at nine – that was a blur.  And I was up at ten and that was a blur.  I did my morning ablutions and made some notes on something I may or may not write in a few months – it came to me in the morning and I kind of liked the notion of it.  It’s something I’ve thought about but never really taken seriously and perhaps it would be fun to give it a go.  Less obtuse I’m afraid I cannot be at this time.

At some point, I went and had a meatless Cobb salad and a bagel for my meal o’ the day.  Then I picked up no packages, which was irritating.  Then I came home and the helper came by and got some invoices.  Then I moseyed on over to Foto-Kem, where I visited with Robert A. Harris.  He was doing some tests on something I cannot speak of, and then I saw a bit more of another thing he’s working on – all a lot of fun to just be a fly on the wall.  I stayed for most of the afternoon, then came home.

Once home, I felt no a bit motivated to do much of anything.  I watched a little of Fever Pitch, which is not really my cuppa but has a very good cast.  I watched a bit of Samson and Delilah, which is not quite the home run I’d read about, transfer-wise, and I watched a bit of Gunfight at OK Corral, which looked fine.  Otherwise, I just did some more work on the computer, chose the final song for the Kritzerland show, sent out that eBlast, confirmed reservations for an opening night on Sunday at the Pasadena Playhouse, and I’m sure I did other stuff but it’s a blur.  Oh, yeah – I went to Gelson’s.  Just before getting there, right off the 101 off-ramp going the other way were about ten police cars – a car was there, empty, and they were warily walking around it, and the driver was a ways away face down on the pavement, so he must have been doing something not good.  I did look online to see if there was news about it, but saw nothing.  At Gelson’s, I got some slaw and a few drumettes for my evening snack.  Then I came home and ate it, whilst doing stuff on the Internet.

This whole page of notes is a blur, isn’t it?  Frankly, I’m ready for a new page and guess what – it just arrived in the nick of time.

Today, I shall be up by nine and we have a ten o’clock work session with Sandy and Lanny – that will last only a couple of hours, then I’ll eat, then I’m picking up the limitation sheet from Grant, which I’ll then take to Staples to have copies made on a very specific kind of paper that Grant already has – his printer couldn’t handle it, so it’s easier to just go to Staples and let them deal with it.  Then I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, and hopefully that will include the hardcover of Red Gold – once that’s in hand, then I will order the book and also book the signing at Mystery and Imagination Books.

Tomorrow, James C. Mulligan will be here in the morning to sign the limitation sheet, then I have a production meeting for Li’l Abner, after which I will go directly to the engineer’s place to finesse the And the World Goes Round mixes.  We’ll also do that on Friday.  Also on Friday, Grant and I will sign the limitation sheet.  Not sure what’s what on Saturday, although I believe I’ll have a breakfast meeting.  Sunday I’m seeing some Noel Coward thing at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have a work session, eat, pick up the limitation sheet, get it Xeroxed, hopefully pick up packages, book the signing, order books and relax.  Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like.  So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, after which hopefully the day and night will not be a blur.
