Well, dear readers, I do believe I’m the new King of Burlesque. I’ll tell you why I believe that I’m the new King of Burlesque because why should I withhold such information dear readers such as yourselves. I happened to be cruising around the Tube of You and I found several new videos I’d never seen of I Need an Earthman from The Brain from Planet X. And these were strippers miming to the original cast album with Alet Taylor singing. It was really funny to watch. So drag folks and burlesque folks have made the number their own. All hail the new King of Burlesque. Go know.
Our stumble-through yesterday may well be the best we ever had. Everyone was prepared and on their A game, no lyric fumfers, and just a whole big ton of fun. The cast is great, and I love having new people, and that’s going to be a goal of mine going into the next year of Kritzerland. Many laughs, beautiful ballads, and some powerhouse numbers. Best of all, we’re now sold out. The structure of the show works wonderfully and it moves like a house afire. After we finished, several of us went over to Casa Vega. I had a chicken taco (I ordered beef but they brought chicken) and a cheese enchilada, but a la carte. Food was excellent as always.
Prior to all that, I’d only gotten five hours of sleep. Then she of the Evil Eye arrived – I’d already shaved and showered. I did my morning computer stuff, then went and had scrambled eggs, bacon, and an English muffin. After that, I picked up no packages, then came home. I got everything set up for the stumble-through. I’m having spotty allergy problems, so I had no idea what my voice would be like, but it was okay, so send excellent vibes and xylophones that it’s fine for the show.
When I got back from lunch, I printed out a lot of Amazon orders, listed about thirty more titles, and continued to be astonished at the orders coming in. In fact, yesterday kept pace with the day before. If I could do that every day for the next week, that would be great, plus it clears the shelves, which we really need to do. I did a two-and-a-half mile jog, then tried to watch the Flix of Net, but it wasn’t loading properly so I just gave up. I ended up cruising the Tube of You and watching stuff. Someone also passed on to me an unmentionable of the most popular show on Broadway. I guess I’ll watch it at some point, but last night wasn’t that point.
Today, I shall hopefully arise after a good night’s beauty sleep. I hope I have more orders from Amazon, I’ll do a jog, and then I’ll get ready, then mosey on over to The Federal for sound check, my usual artichoke, and then our show. After, I know a bunch of us will go to Little Toni’s for our usual post show repast.
Monday, I do the birthday concert thing. I can relax until I leave around four. The concert begins at seven and I must remember to take my Claritin-D because they have cats. The rest of the week is meetings and meals and meals and meetings.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, rest, take care of my voice, jog, do a sound check, do a show, have a post show repast, and then relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where I shall bump and grind and do low comedy because, after all, I AM the new King of Burlesque.
