TIS THE SEASON TO PRE-ORDER THE NEW BOOK

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, it is currently pouring rain. How did that happen? Very happy I did not get the motor car washed yesterday. But I like hearing the sound of the rain as I write these here notes and therefore I am listening to Daniele Licari sing I Will Wait for You from Les Parapluis de Cherbourg. For those who may not know, Ms. Licari was the singing voice for Catherine Deneuve in the film. This version is from one of her solo albums and she’s as lovely on the rest of the songs as she is when dubbing Miss Deneuve. But the big news o’ the day is that the book page for pre-orders for Tis the Season to Be Murdered is live and I’m hoping some of you dear readers will pre-order posthaste. The page has the flap copy, the three blurbs from the back cover and it’s great to finally move ahead with this. Here is the direct link to the book page.

And here are the front and back cover images.

Other than that, I did manage to watch another limited series, this one from Brazil, entitled Good Morning, Veronica. I find with these fiction crime series four episodes is the ideal, and maybe, in rare cases, six. The ones that always feel stretched, repetitive, and that overstay their welcome are eight episodes. Sadly, this one is eight. The lead actress is very good, otherwise it follows the usual template of things and it becomes tiresome and the ending is unsatisfying, probably because they were hoping for a second series – it got approved for it but it hasn’t been shot yet. Anyway, it was okay.

Yesterday was something of a day. I got seven hours of sleep again, answered e-mails, had telephonic conversations, had a burger and onion rings for food (from this jernt called Burger Lounge near Gelson’s – it’s pretty good), David Wechter liked the ending I wrote and had just a few things to chat about – but I got all the beats working and that was the most important part. In the middle of watching Good Morning, Veronica, I moseyed on over to Gelson’s and got some creamy tomato soup for a snack, came home and ate that (very good) whilst watching the rest of the Netflix series.

After that, I did some work on the computer, had a long telephonic conversation, got the book page up and running and that was my day and night.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’m thinking a salad will be the food o’ the day, I’ll announce the book on Facebook and elsewhere, and then I’ll hopefully pick up some packages before I mosey on over to the theater to see the show. After that, I’ll come home and watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow, she of the Evil Eye comes, so I’ll go and have an early breakfast, come home, relax, then see the evening performance of our show. Sunday, I’ll be at the matinee and then talkback, after which a nice dinner in a nice restaurant.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, eat, announce the book on Facebook, hopefully pick up packages, and then see our show. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player? I’ll start – I have no idea. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to start pre-orders for the new book.
