Well, dear reader, let’s have a little drum roll, shall we (sound of drumroll)? Because we had us another good day of our Indiegogo campaign, going from 21% in twelve hours to 33% in thirty-six hours, which was a very nice jump forward. I’m hoping for another good day today. I did end up adding quite a few perks yesterday, some of which were snapped up with gay abandon and some of which are still there to be grabbed with gay abandon. I still have more perky perkilicious perks to come, but we’ll wait until a few more things go. I’ve already photographed the perks to come, so they’re all ready to go. Here is the handy-dandy direct link to the campaign. You dear readers out there in the dark should check it out – you might find something to your liking.
Of course, that all took up most of the day and evening, but I did manage to watch a motion picture on Amazon Prime entitled Georgetown, starring Christoph Waltz, Vanessa Redgrave, and Annette Bening, also directed by Mr. Waltz. The film came out in 2019 and I, of course, had never heard about it. It’s a fictionalized version about the murder of the 91-year-old socialite Viola Herms Drath, by her younger ladder-climber husband Albrecht Muth. In the film, he’s called Ulrich Mott. Waltz seems to play this kind of role over and over and over again – think Big Eyes – but he does it well. Redgrave is her usual excellent self, and Bening is terrific. The script by David Auburn is peculiarly structured, which I found a little irritating, but it held my interest certainly. I’m not sure it ever had a theatrical release. Apparently, it did have a tiny release along with video on demand at the same time. Not great but has its enjoyable moments.
Yesterday was a fine day. I got seven-and-a-half hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, put up a lot of new perky perks, and then did the cheerleading thing all day, which I enjoy doing. The more fun we have the better, that’s my motto. I had Japanese food for lunch from some jernt in the City of Studio. I think I ate there once, in person, and didn’t love it, but it hit the spot yesterday. I ordered in a bento box that included California roll, tempura, and teriyaki chicken, along with miso soup, salad, and white rice. I’d asked for extra teriyaki sauce but got none. There’s never enough teriyaki for my taste and that was the case here. The tempura was very good as was the California roll. I hate miso soup so that went in the trash. I hadn’t had a Japanese meal in probably two years. It’s pretty calorie friendly, so perhaps I’ll try a different jernt in a few days or maybe even go sit and eat somewhere. At around five, I needed a break and took one. At that point we were around 26% and I hoped we’d get closer to thirty by the end of the evening. Whilst in the midst of watching Georgetown, I got a text asking who’d taken the Li’l Abner window card – I had no idea, but I knew it would zoom us up percentage-wise and it did, right up to 33%, the highest ticket item so far.
Then I finished the movie and went back to cheerleading. We did get another contribution, another ten-CD perk, but it wasn’t quite enough to take us to 34%.
Today, I’ll be up by eleven, and then it’s more of the same – some new perks, cheerleading, food, more cheerleading, and then I can watch, listen, and relax – and cheerlead.
Tomorrow, I have to be up by eight-thirty and out by nine so that she of the Evil Eye can do her thing whilst I go eat a light breakfast of some sort. Then I’ll do a few things, then come home and rinse and repeat. Sunday will be the same and so will all of next week.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven, hopefully find we’ve had more contributions, add some perks, do some cheerleading, eat, check and see if there’s anything at the mail place and if there is, maybe go and get whatever it is, then I’ll watch something, then continue cheerleading. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray player? I’ll start – nothing. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, so happy that we hit 33% in our Indiegogo campaign after just thirty-six hours.
