THE THURSDAY I THOUGHT WAS FRIDAY BUT WAS THURSDAY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I have some shocking news for you. For the entirety of yesterday day and evening I thought it was Friday. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, I thought it was Friday. And yet, it was not Friday it was Thursday. Today is Friday and yet it feels like Saturday because I thought yesterday was Friday. I shall try to adjust, oh, yes, I shall try to adjust. In the meantime, I shall try to adjust. I did watch a motion picture last night entitled Nyad about swimmer Diana Nyad, who after five tries swam from Cuba to Key West, Florida, in something like fifty-three hours. I’d actually never heard of here, even though she was and is quite popular with the populace. It’s directed by two documentary filmmakers – that part’s okay except for the use of pop songs. The actual film score by Alexandre Desplat is perhaps a cut above the usual droning stuff we get these days. But it’s the two lead performances that make the film – Annette Bening and Jodie Foster, and both should be nominated for Oscars, and while knowing the Academy and how they are, I think they’ll give the award to Carey Mulligan, Bening is very deserving of it. I’d certainly give supporting to Jodie Foster, and there’s a wonderful supporting performance by Rhys Ifans. I’m not really into sports and endurance films, but I enjoyed this mainly for the two performances and can certainly recommend it for those. Otherwise, it was the usual. Eight hours of sleep but not up until one-thirty. Once up, I futzed and finessed, adding a few things and smoothing out. I’m always looking for things to tighten, but I didn’t really find anything. Then I moseyed on over to Taco Bell, got food, and came home and ate it all up. Then I wrote about four or five new pages, took a break, wrote three more, watched the movie, and will definitely write another four or five before bed.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll futz and finesse, I’ll write new pages, I’ll do a quick Gelson’s run, I’ll make something here, probably pasta of some sort, I’ll write more new pages, I’ll watch another new movie, I’ll write more new pages, and then I can watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow will be more writing, and so will Sunday. By Sunday, I should be within spitting distance of finishing the book, but it’s really hard to tell. I’ll know more by the end of today whether I’ll finish on Sunday or whether it will be Monday or Tuesday. When I’m finished, then the final batch of pages will go to Muse Margaret. Then David Wechter and I must get back to our screenplay. If Muse Margaret is okay with the rest of the pages, I’ll print out the book and do my proofing of it. I’ll also catch up on a lot of stuff and I need to write some liner notes, have some meetings and meals, and make some decisions.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, futz and finesse, write new pages, do a Gelson’s run, eat, write more new pages, watch a movie, write, then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday (not Saturday) – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray/streaming player? I’ll start – I have no idea. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have gotten the days straightened out.
