Well, dear readers, the weather cannot seem to make up its mind. One day it’s in the 90s, the next its in the 60s. Yesterday, it was in the high 60s, then it went up to about 80, then dropped down to the mid-60s, all within the space of about six hours. I don’t want to say that the weather is running hot and cold, but it is. You don’t know whether to dress for the heat or the cold. One becomes schizoid. For example, this morning I dressed for the slightly chilly air. By one, I had to change outfits to dress for the hot air. By the time I reached the Heim of Ana it was quite cool and became quite chilly and there I was dressed for the hot air. Is a puzzlement. What am I, the King of Siam all of a sudden? Next I’ll be saying, “I think your Moses shall have been a fool.” Speaking of the King of Siam, yesterday had moments that were fun, and moments that were annoying. For example, I got up. That was fun. Then I had to deal with some e-mails. That was annoying. Then I had to make some important decisions and our very own elmore helped me make them, so I got that out of the way. I did errands (both fun and annoying) and the hours just flew by, like a gazelle in a black leather trousers and motorcycle boots and a black leather jacket with an eagle on its back. Then it was time to have a meal and attend a rehearsal. It was back to Chili’s for the meal. I had a side Caesar salad, a bacon cheeseburger, and a handful of fries (I ordered the side salad instead of the fries, but there the fries were on my plate at no extra charge). Because the hostess was nowhere in sight when we arrived and we just stood there waiting for ten minutes, they gave us a free appetizer – a chili con queso dip and chips. I just had a few chips and dip and it was good. Still, I felt like I was ready to explode after the meal and I just have to stop this heavy eating, so tomorrow I’m on a new and strict regime and I will not stray from it. After the large meal it was time for a rehearsal. I finished giving notes from the night before, and then we cleaned up a couple of spacing issues and then we did the run-through. Some of it was quite good, and some of it wasn’t quite as good as the night before, but it’s all coming along smartly. Every night, new strides are made by our mighty company of players, and I’m just trying to keep everyone on track and begin to get things consistent from one run-through to the next. After the run-through, I came home and sat on my chair like so much fish and in honor of so much fish I ate some Swedish what is it, fish.
I hear tell that my new digital postal machine will be here on Thursday, which is cutting it a little close. It means I have to figure out how it works, get the postage loaded, and have it ready to go by Friday – we’re completely on track for CDs to arrive on time. Meanwhile, none of my expected packages arrived. We did have a few orders trickle in – I suspect the next big batch will come as soon as I announce that CDs are in. Some people will just not preorder, for whatever reasons.
Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below whilst I think about turning on the heater, as it’s about fifty degrees in the home environment. Is a puzzlement.
Today, I’ll be printing out orders and getting everything ready for the big packaging sessions on Friday and Saturday. It’s complicated, because I have to be at a paper tech on Friday afternoon, and at a dry tech Saturday morning, so the helpers are going to be doing the bulk of the work. I have to also pick up 1000 Kritzerland mailing labels – I probably had enough, but I didn’t want to take a chance on running out.
Then it will be a meal and a work-through rehearsal, where we’ll do detail work and clean up things that still need to be cleaned up. I think we’re going to try a new jernt called the Corner Bakery, which everyone seems to think is great. I’m hoping I can just have a normal sandwich and a salad and no fries and no appetizers and no dessert.
Tomorrow will be another full run-through. Then the cast is off on Friday and Saturday, and then returns on Sunday for a cue-to-cue, then two run-throughs in a row with lighting. I’m really looking forward to seeing the show with lighting and all the set pieces and projections working.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, pick up Kritzerland labels, I must print orders, I must organize everything for shipping, I must ship one or two envelopes, I must have a meal, and then attend a rehearsal. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you dear readers get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like.
