There were very few pages for me to read this Monday morning. I'll have to check Amazon's recommendations to fill in this time gap.

Dance: Unless DR Elmore is still there - all I have is the music and the mirror.

Dancing is NOT an option under those circumstances.  Mirrors are so unkind.

I was just going to post a few photos from my trip.   I mulled it over and decided to get the digital camera after all, so this trip was a chance to experiment with it a little bit...

DR Tomovoz - that will be nice, but now it's not a surprise!   :)

I have a surprise for you too, but I'm trying to figure out how to work around copy protections.

Good decision DR BamBam.  I think you were probably entitled to the gift.

Here's my mother's place at the Jersey shore...just a simple summer cottage, really, compared to the McMansions that are replacing all the similar houses all around...

We're about 4 houses from the beach.

Zach gave us kind of a scare.  He had been happily running on the beach for hours at a time all week, and then mid-day Friday he started acting sluggish, to the point Friday night where he almost couldn't move at all.  It was very upsetting.  We rushed home Saturday and got him to our vet.

$400.00 later, they had ruled out a bone break or arthritic joints, but he did test positive for Lyme.  He's on an antibiotic treatment for that, as well as anti-inflammatories, and he seems slowly to be returning to normal.  But it was scary!

I saw the latest Harry Potter film, which was fine, and Hairspray, which I really enjoyed.

Did a sandpiper try to mend Zach's broken wing?
Great that he is OK.

Expensive dog week for Bosco and Zach.
Our Magnus is about to visit his eye specialist today.  Those eye charts of matching the directions of smaller and smaller bones are a joy.

I did not make it into NYC for Bukowsical, but wasn't trying hard because my impression was that DR Cason was not going on.  But now I see that perhaps he did go on for a different performance.  Perhaps DR elmore3003 has already posted about this.

From TCB:

For possible discussion:

Have you ever gone to see a play or a musical (no movies allowed) where you absolutely hated every minute of it; even though everyone around you seemed to think it was a masterpiece?

The recent revival of Company.

I will not rant about it because there are people on this very board who mightily enjoyed it. I was not one of them.

Regarding Slings and Arrows, I, too, loved the entire series. I know that there are differing opinions but it brought back great memories of my time in the "biz" and there are some very sharp and accurate portrayals of various types in a regional theatre.

Sunday evening greetings!  It's my one-day weekend and I've spent a fair amount of it on Craig's List helping DS Rob find someplace to live when he goes back to the Univ. of Cincinnati this fall.  He left in the spring in kind of an uproar with mono and didn't get his housing lined up properly (nor his classes, but that's his problem).  We think we have a lead on a studio - he's going to look at it tomorrow after work.

Dreamgirls at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati.  The venue's lousy sound system and general dumpiness must have had something to do with my dislike, because I found the movie quite enjoyable.

DR Singdaw - welcome back!  I love, love, love your mother's house at the Jersey shore.  Is that a for-sale sign in the yard?

Singdaw, Cason didn't go on in the role he was supposed to go on for.  He did a little bit that he and another actor do.
