I vote him for PLaza-O-Double Four- Double Three, with Victoria Clark as his costar.

I still love the BYE BYE BIRDIE suggestion the best.  I honestly don't think Ms Clark is Ella Peterson material.  Perhaps she can overact the Jean Stapleton part.

To be fair, I hear she's quite wonderful in LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, but I'm waiting to see it to be convinced.

Adam Guettel for the score of that pizza show.  How's that, Dan (the Man)? ;)

Why's Guettel all aglow?
'Cause his light pizza show
Won a Tony!
(Won a Tony!)

Get it?

I prefer Miss Clark's portrayal of Ella Peterson to Faith Prince's. . .sorry, BK and DR elmore. . . .
Love Vickie in TITANIC, too.
Not only does she perform well on stage, she's a terrific softball player as well.

OH! and speaking of connections!  I saw DR Elmore's photograph earlier today when I was copying Kristin's "Little Red Hat" to my computer. . .AND I listened to Ms. Ramirez contribution to BK's THE STEPHEN SCHWARTZ ALBUM while I was uploading "Lion Tamer" onto the computer. . . .

I HATE THESE TEENAGE GROUPIES ENDLESS SCREAMING FROM THE BALCONY!  Hugh even mentioned it.

Jerry Mitchell, a middling choreographer, was cute.  The number from Light in the Piazza was just like the CD - busy, busy, busy (that is three busys) with lots of people singing loudly.

And the "staged" shots on Broadway (especially love the carriage that just "happens" to be there) - feh.

And why on earth was Vicki Clark holding a microphone at the beginning of the number.

Christina's fall was good and funny.

Vickie did BELLS ARE RINGING two summers ago at Pittsburgh's Civic Light Opera, her co-star was Bob Cuccioli.

DRtd, I've worked with her and I am not a fan.  Did she do BELLS ARE RINGING at CLO?  I didn't see Faith do the role, only Judy Holliday in the film.

And the announcer, who I would personally like to throttle, saying "stay tuned for a show-stopping number from Sweet Charity."  We should decide that, not her.

Wondered about the microphone myself...hmmm.

Not unhappy with ANY of the choices.  Very happy about a few of them!

DR elmore - you know you can tell me the secrets of working with her. . .

On the plus side, I would say that most of us agree on Hugh Jackman's talents and charms and energy.

Oh, that was a microphone in her hand.  I thought it was something that she broke off from the other side of the statue.

I was impressed with neither Christina Applegate nor the choreography.

My question for CBS...

You keep saying the the Tony Awards are a low-ratings getter...

You keep saying that it's hard to find advertisers and charge advertising rates in order to make the broadcast "profitable"...

Then why bother?  -Give it all to PBS

And then why set time limits and cut off people in the middle of acceptance speeches?

Just cut some of the commercial slots.

*And hearing "that song" being sung during various commercials.. and then being duet-ted by Ms. Franklin and Mr. Jackman.... UGH!!!!

In defense of Miss Applegate: Her problems in the number were not her fault.  I am livid that whoever conducted and put together that "medley" did not do their job and FOLLOW THE SINGER.  Was the conductor the one for the show, or the Tony conductor?  Awful.  She had no chance because whoever it was was not doing their job as a conductor.  Furthermore, Ethel Merman couldn't have gotten her note into If They Could See Me Now after Big Spender ended - totally different key and now bell tone or anything to help Miss Applegate find her note.  Shameful.

BUTT - not as shameful as the horrible, awful Wayne Cilento ripoffs of Fosse.  You know, Fosse's name is nowhere to be found in the Charity program, and yet Mr. Cilento thinks he can just steal wholesale like that?  But, not steal in a good way - just randomly because he doesn't have one original choreographic bone in his body.  The fact that he is making a living doing this is astonishing.  And those sickening groupies...

I thought Emmy Rossum was cute, and managed to clear herself from the camera hog, Jeff Goldblum.

And now for something completely different!  They (CBS) just had a commercial for David Letterman and one of the upcoming guests, the music group Black Eyed Peas...except that I thought that they said Black Guy Pees!

Agree on Mario Cantone. I file him next to John Leguizamo under the heading, "Why?"
