Howdy do, all...

Why do we keep going to that place?? For Jennifer Holliday and Patti LuPone, that's why. And for the stories.

Oh, that's why!

Howdy do, all...

DR Jose and I did, indeed, have a ball last night at Musical Mondays. If we really wanted to, we could have a  couple of balls and a...well, nevermind. Let's just say the place was just shy of lecherous at times. I must remember NEVER to shake anyone's hand next time I'm there...I know where those hands have been. Seriously, though, Jose and I had fun and we even got a little drag show right on our table, if you can imagine. Songs were sung, dirt was dished, a guy peeked at me under the urinal stall (after I'd zipped up, thank God). Why do we keep going to that place?? For Jennifer Holliday and Patti LuPone, that's why. And for the stories.

Well, we know why DR Jose, the scourge of God, goes:  the ambience and he's a tramp.

I have been cursing Amazon.com up and down for the past hour, I am blue in the face, my typing fingers are numb, and two very patient and kind customer service reps have learned new colorful four-letter words to enhance their vocabulary.  And the reason?  I pay for my Amazon.com by having the funds taken from my bank account.  I have no problem ordering for myself.  BUT . . . when I try to do multiple shipments or send to another address, I have to re-enter my bank info, my account name, my driver's licence number and state for the license, and I am rejected again and again and a-fucking-gain!  Customer Service cannot help and no one at Amazon.com seems remotely capable of either confirming my info on file in their system or correcting the damned problem.

I do blame Jose, scourge of god, for all of this.

HOT L BALTIMORE on TV also had one of the first openly gay couples as characters on a TV series. I found the show very funny and a nice adaptation of the play for television.

You know, over the weekend I was receiving a network on Comcast Cable called LOGO...but now it is gone!

Well, it is still there, but I don't have access to it any longer. I don't get it!

Of course all weekend it was reruns of Xena: Princess Warrior so it wasn't like I would have ever really watched the network anyhow.

LOGO is the gay cable channel; I wish it were available in my area.

Don't let them judge you MBarnum. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

One has to look no further than elmore's VCR to see that!

I spent an hour speeding through the Golden Globes this afternoon. Enjoyed the speeches by George Clooney and the producer of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. Felicity Huffman's acceptance speech was funny and very touching (loved seeing the audience reaction to her heatfelt tribute to people who don't fit in the mainstream). Ang Lee had a lovely acceptance speech, too. Steve Carrell was very funny and his wife was a good sport about his speech. Love Hugh Laurie's actual accent. (Love his American accent, too).

I also watched a documentary of legendary heavyweight champion Jack Johnson this afternoon. I already knew some things about him and, of course, THE GREAT WHITE HOPE took events from his life to fashion that wonderful play and film from. This gave more of the story.

Well, looking at the channel line-up, you aren't missing much as far as I can tell. I do know they showed an edited-for-television version of LATTER DAYS.

I had forgotten ICE STATION ZEBRA was released a couple of years ago. I'd love to see it again despite its overlength.

DR JRand, tell me how the DVD looks and sounds quiality-wise if you please!

AMERICAN IDOL begins again tonight with a couple of weeks of those tedious and repetative audition rounds. I can watch about 20 minutes of them before I get throughly bored with them. 2 hours of it tonight is WAY too much for me. I'll switch over to SCRUBS for sure at 9.

(To be honest, I'm a little burned out on IDOL after the last couple of years having favorites eased out earlier than they deserved. I may not watch as rabidly this year.)

And I'm going to watch Tom Cavanaugh's new series LOVE MONKEY tonight, too. That means the DVR will be picking up THE CLOSER and L&O:SVU. I won't get THE SHIELD until its 11 p.m. showing. BOSTON LEGAL gets the shaft completely this week.

Are you familiar with Fairport Convention  http://www.fairportconvention.com/   and the Brobdinagain Bards?  http://www.soundclick.com/pro/view/03/default.cfm?bandid=106366&content=main&songid=0

Yes, I am familiar with them both... FC were popular back in the 70s and 80s.
