Still waiting ...

Would it help if I sang another chorus of "Drywall Man"?

Some people actually seem to enjoy Sanjaya's presence on the show.

Some think he's got the "young" vibe that the show always claims it's looking for.

Not a few think he's a talented, too.

Given the thousands of auditions that were just plain terrible, Sanjaya still stands out.

And a lot of viewers are tone deaf.

A real prison uniform or something like they wear in cartoon prisons (white with the black horizontal stripes)?

I'm thinking more along the lines of one of those orange jumpsuits you sometimes see them wearing when they're being interviewed on TV.

Those should be easy to find....and any prison name can be stencilled on the back.

Does anyone know what I could use to fake a prison uniform? I would just get one, except that I can only find them in sizes ten times too large.

Guard or prisoner? If prisoner, a lot of the videos show the gals in white -- so white scrubs or white sweats/warm-ups (if elastic in the leg bottoms, just cut it off or cut out the elastic part and they'll look more like pants and cut the sleeves to make the top short sleeved) no make-up, no jewelry, no fancy hairstyle, maybe just pulled back in a pony tail. If you want to go with the old-timey stereo-typical prisoner look, get the black eletrical tape and make stripes on your white outfit. Guard? Black slacks, belted if possible, with white short-sleeved shirt tucked in, black shoes, hair slicked back in bun -- and buy some cheap badge (kids toy department -- usually can find those little police kits with the gun, badge, handcuffs, etc.).  Or if you just happen to have beige pants and a beige short-sleeved shirt (Hah! -- the boy scout type - might be pushing it, huh?)  Some times they wear blue uniforms, or the beige ones -- but those may be hard to find -- so just create the illusion with the black or dark navy pants and white shirt with badge accessories (even if you resemble a police woman more than a guard -- it's the illusion that you're after for your class scene -- it ain't Broadway as us community theatre costumers are often forced to say).

Well....YEAH!  How else can you explain those thousands of screechers who auditioned?

The prisoners out here wear black/white stripes. And pink underwear.

Oh, and good call on the stencil idea, Mr P -- if you go with the white or the orange, stencil the name of a prison  or jail (they usually just have "County Jail" on them)  -- that would be a nice detail touch to add..

Look at what Iowa Prison Industries offers for prisoner attire.

You could also  wear blue chambray...or black...or....

I'd recommend the boxer shorts, the tube socks and a T-shirt of your choice.

Yes,  I agree orange is the color most people associate with prisoners, but if she doesn't have time to track down an orange one, I figured she could find sweats pretty easily at Target, etc. -- and I have seen footage where the gals are in white sometimes -- or she can always go with pink boxers and place her scene in Phoenix where Sheriff Joe has those guys wear the pink boxers....DR Laura and MusicG will know what I'm talking about...

I don't know why but I'm feeling so sad,
I long to replace walls that I had.
Never could do plasterin'--
Not a task I'm a master in,
Drywall Man, oh, where can you be?

(think Billie Holiday...)

I have been listening to the title song from the new Bollywood film SHAKALAK BOOM, BOOM...and I cannot get it out of my head.

I am very much looking forward to this movie! Perhaps it will be in the theatre in Times Square when I go to NYC. Perhaps DR Jose will not chicken out this time.

A difference between post office and private services:  When you call UPS or fedEx or DHL with a problem, they at least act like they care about a problem in their system.  With the post office, the answer I got when I pointed out that the delivery guy lied was "I have no control over our carriers."

She said they'll redeliver tomorrow.  We'll see if that happens.

While I was typing my last post, you had already posted this one about the pink -- so I was correct in knowing you and DR MusicGuy would get the pink boxer reference... :)

DR Cillaliz, I also would not want to peek at the TAR spoilers.  I like being completely spoiler-free.  But like i said, i will check after the season is over just for curiosity.

I know some people like to read the spoilers. I know i read them religiously for big brother. But i don't consider that the same (since that is happening live and we are just not being shown what is happening).

I know a lot of people read survivor spoilers. I did that one year for allstars. And they know everything. I have a friend who does not normally read survivor spoilers. But he's found this season so utterly disappointing that he read them so that now he can study the editing.

Ah, but they do have control over their carriers, and someone paid for delivery confirmation - extra.  The control they have is that they can fire their carriers.  If the person you spoke to gives you that line again, immediately ask for their name and then a supervisor.  If you need to go beyond that I have names and numbers you can call.  If they don't redeliver tomorrow I would seriously do what I did and go directly to consumer relations.  Believe me, they don't rest until this nonsense stops.
